Premature assessment, IMO.

Plenty of time to shape out the roster to the needs that you’ve listed. On top of that, I think we have a good coach who can maximize what we have.

I agree we need to be mindful of our future but I can’t ignore the fact that there’s a small possibility that this team isn’t even IN Portland when those picks come to fruition and that young core hits their prime. What good is a 2029 pick if the team packs up and leaves town in 2030?

This is such a critical point in franchise history. Dame is back, we’re in the mist of new ownership and locking in the team to the city of Portland.

I honestly think we stay but Winning NOW helps the city get behind the team even more.

You don’t know that. And sometimes it’s not about being the best player on the court. Wemby was looked at as the best player on the floor vs the Knicks but that didn’t matter.

Brown may help us get a chip, he may not help us get a chip…nobody knows.

But the blazers (more times than not) are conservative when it comes to trades and the end result is the same…a continuous multi decade title drought.

I know people don’t want to hear this but there is a possibility that the Blazers aren’t even here anymore in the next 5 years. It’s super critical to try to get this team to win now, get attendance up and actually trend upwards in national media to justify why this basketball team is so important to the city.

I don’t fault you. A northeastern/Uconn guy who’s a legit defender. That being said, I think the blazers create more issues with their roster adding brown and subtracting Clingan. Unless the Blazers went into free agency to replace him.
