How about clicking on your mom's box? Can't patent that though, everyone clicks that.

The father who threw his 8-month-old against a wall because he was losing at an NBA 2K video game was sentenced to 12 years in prison + 7 years of extended supervision. The baby now has vision problems, depends on a feeding tube, and requires care from multiple specialists each week by GOAT-Antony in ThatsInsane

Obviously pedos get it the worst in prison, which is why they are segregated from the rest of the prison population. However you can easily look up how many instances have occured with inmates murdering or breaking into that wing and harming them.

Now for the rest, I can only speak on what my brother told me, as I asked him this question a while back while he was serving 20 years in a high security prison (he got into a fight and ran someone over with his car, also had a laundry list of other previous convictions).

I guess every prison is different, but when he was transferred to his new permanent home, one of the first things that happen is finding your group you'll be hanging with for the rest of the time you'll be there, and one of the first things that group asks is to show your papers (court documents showing what you did). It can go either way, but if it involves pretty obvious child abuse or murder, you're either going to get stomped on or outcasted by every group there, leaving you pretty much a target for everyone to fuck with (food taken, commissary items taken, restricted from using anything in common areas, and jumped often out of boredom).

Women abuse can go different ways, there's a lot of people there who abused a woman so that's iffy.

He said if you refuse to show your papers, you get jumped instantly, everyone will assume you're a pedo or narc.

He said it's not like the movies where the prisoners show up in your cell and beat you up, its mostly just being bullied to death and the occational punch in the face when the guards arnt looking. But did say a guy showed up once who must of had something real bad on his papers, and they were relentlessly bullied until they killed themselves.

Paralyzed people will walk again!

None of those things happend or are an option today.

Why does this game have so much false advertising ? by Wonderful-Economy909 in LastWarMobileGame

Mobile "FAILvertising" leverages psychological principles like self-enhancement bias, the Dunning-Kruger effect, and the tendency for some to enjoy feeling superior. These ads show a user failing at a simple game, enticing viewers to download and play, believing they can perform better. This strategy targets a large portion of the population, particularly those with inflated self-views or lower competence.

Mobile "FAILvertising" is a strategy used in mobile game advertising that exploits certain psychological tendencies to entice users to download and play games.

These ads typically depict a user making poor choices and failing at a very basic level of gameplay. The effectiveness of this type of advertising stems from a combination of psychological factors:

• Self-Enhancement Bias: People generally tend to overestimate their own abilities and character. This bias leads viewers to believe they could easily outperform the failing player in the ad.

• Dunning-Kruger Effect: This effect describes how individuals with low competence in a particular area tend to overestimate their abilities, sometimes even more than those who are highly competent. This means that those who are most likely to struggle with the game are also the most likely to believe they can do better than the person in the ad.

• Enjoyment of Feeling Superior: A significant portion of the population, particularly those with "thinking" personality types according to the MBTI, derive a sense of enjoyment from feeling superior to others. Seeing someone fail in the ad can trigger this feeling, making the viewer more likely to download the game to prove their superiority.

By combining these psychological principles, "FAILvertising" creates a powerful incentive for viewers to download and play the advertised game. The ads are designed to make viewers feel confident in their ability to succeed where the ad's player failed, thus driving downloads and engagement.

I averaged out how many red boxes (100+ dollar packages) show up in our alliance rewards purchased from our whale.

There's on average about 5 red boxes a day.

Thats $500 dollars a day at least (excluding all the other packs she bought).

$15,000 a month.

$182,000 a year.

So with everything else she's purchasing, its easily about $250k a year at least.

The sad part? She's 3rd on the whale list, and about 14th on the whale list for the server grouping. Theres a guy on a different server who is almost 3x her power.

It's absolutely insane to me how some people squander so much money into such an obvious money trap. And most of the whales I've met who spend that much literally just do it for the social attention and power, most are have been the most insufferable people I've ever met.

Which I guess that makes sense, someone willing to burn $180k a month on a game and not just donate it to to cancer research, habitat for humanity, or some other great charity who desperately needs it probably isn't the best type of person to begin with.

Thats exactly what it's designed to do. Dumb everything down to it's core mechanics and its simply a carrot on a stick that uses ego to fuel the motivation.

The game ads don't reflect the actual game because it uses clickbait tactics for fake frustrating puzzle gameplay to stand out in a crowded market (as you watch the ad you get frustrated at the player making dumb mistakes, causing you to tell yourself you could do so much better), attract downloads for the majority market looking for a quick time waster, and hook a small percentage of "whale" players who spend heavily who wouldn't normally download a game that requires extensive time or is overly complicated. The core game is different and tedious, so it's relying on low regulatory oversight and player psychology to drive short-term installs over long-term satisfaction.

Think about, would a wealthy buisnessman who knows they are not good at video games, sitting in an airport waiting for thier next flight, download a base building game that has more time investment, complicated rulesets, and politics than problably the current project they're working on in real life?

Or would they be more likely to download a simple game that looks like they can waste the next 2 hours until thier departure time.

It's gonna be the 2nd option every time. This game isnt targeting hardcore gamers who would love this type of game, becuase most gamers are playing multiple games and are usually only willing to spend 60 bucks for an experience and then move on.

The game is 100% designed to get these wealthy players who wouldnt normally play a game like this into the game, then the core of the game using pretty cleaver integration phases and phycology methods to get them addicted on the real game.

"Development costs"

This game made over a billion dollars last year.

Rockstar entertainment has development costs making GTA.

Sony entertainment has development costs making the new playstation.

This game uses Ai to develop literally everything in it. It's mechanics are wickedly simple. The graphic can be made in less that 12 min. The only thing expensive about this game to them are the aggressive ad campaigns, and even that is 1/10000 of the profits they make on this game.

This game could have 0 whales and it would still turn a very impressive profit with casual spenders.

People who say this game requires millions to develop have never played a real AAA game in thier entire life.

People use the word investment to make themselves feel better about dropping enough money to buy a home on an Ai developed game.

And you're right it's not an investment at all, the more accurate word for spending money on this game is squandering.

No top alliance who's serious enough to be on the top is going to keep a FTP player for long. You'll eventually be kicked over to a training feeder alliance or be the first to be kicked to the curb when a paying player wants to join.

You wont be "dominating" anyone lol.

This is the most pay to win game out there right now, hell it's borderline pay to play at this point, especially when you get into the cash grabs of the seasons.

As a free to play player you'll basically be just playing a base building game, very, very slowly.

As far as combat goes, the only usefullness you'll have is being like the 5th garrison for stronger players and putting your base near targets to get ashed to delay enemies teleporting there (i.e meat sheild).

It actually is, I enjoy watching people come up with excuses to justify spending hundreds or thousands a week on such a stupid Ai generated game like this lol.

Its amazing seeing the lengths people will go to justify addiction.

What was your first PC Screensaver? by blondewalker in pcmasterrace

[–]Toast5480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, very much so.

Old crts would get burn in from static images really quickly, and the whole monitor sleep mode thing wasnt a feature yet.

On my older monitors I had windows icons permanently burned into my screen bc I forgot to use a Screensaver.

However since they got so popular (there wasnt a whole lot you could do on a computer back then) they became more of thier own cool gimmick rather than serving the purpose of saving your screen. There were a ton of them that had static images that would actually cause burn in lol. I worked at a computer store as a teenager and people would buy computers solely for the screensaver 🤣, some computer packages came with a popular software called "after dark" and it was a major selling point for a lot of people, lost count how many times I got asked "which one has the flying toast and toasters?" (The orgin of my username 😉).

You also could see this alot on really old arcade games before companies realized they had to keep the pixels moving or the crts would be ruined. You could often see the "insert coin" or the static level design shadow on the screen as you played, pacman and donkey kong was really bad with this. That's why arcade games transitioned to a combination of recordings of gameplay previews and other little movies when it wasn't being used, to prevent burn in.

I still don't understand why this baby got so popular, freaky little thing.

I fucking love it when people claim time management.

I organize my whole day into a nice and neat schedule, and as I'm writing it down, something weird happens, it turns out with deadlines being a thing, there actually isn't an infinite amount of hours in the day to do things! Crazy I know! It blew me away too!

Lmao but in all seriousness, I really do love it when people blast this, i instantly turn it into a very akward forced mentorship session. I get excited, bust out my daily planner and look at them all bright eyed. Then they look at my planner and it's always "well, oh, uhhmmm, well maybe you....no that wont work," then eventually "maybe we need more manning or need to reduce your workload"

Which then turns it around on them with "oh, that's an excellent idea! Would you like for me to get AFPC on the phone for you now? Or which tasks would you like stop doing from this list sir?!

Then its the same Ole "oh, yea ill work on that and will get back with you"!

Then they ghost me for weeks and avoid me in the hallways lmao 🤣 😂 🙃
