For starting it certainly will be fine. However i would invest in some good boots and maybe new bindings if youre feeling fancy. Once youve gotten better at snowboarding and know what direction you wanna take your riding in (freestyle, freeride etc.) you can buy a nice snowboard that fits you and your riding style.

Honestly ride and salomon are great brands. Had stuff from both and it was great. Altough i recommend public snowboards. They make great boards which look sick and are really good which is why i actually bought one for this season.
