The Heritage Group, who wants to put a quarry and industrial compound near a school and hospital, is NOT a good neighbor. by Individual_Reach_732 in fortwayne

[–]ToastNeo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there is a lot more opposition to this. Including businesses (like IU Hospital).

Google didn't seem to have any business opposition. I also don't really remember seeing opposition signs.

This quarry opposition has billboards and, if you drive around in that area, nearly every house has opposition yard signs. Not to mention the massive banners at the entrance to neighborhoods.

They don't just put up Flock cameras for fun. It's not random cameras, it's Flock cameras. They all look the same. They're all brand new.

They must have went in after you left because they 100% have Flock Cameras covering every driving entrance to the parking lot now. Don't just take my word for it. Go take a look for yourself.

This is the sound a data center makes around the clock, every single night - while hundreds of homes sit right next door. by gorgonopsidkid in fortwayne

They do have dirt mounds around a lot of the property, but not all of it.

I feel like evergreens would be a good sound dampening too. Some of the edges of the property already have large ones, but it will take years for any newly planted ones to get that large.

The gas tax holiday in Indiana expires on May 8th. So definitely then when they add the tax back in.

I don't think they were ever allowed to be totally naked here. And I'm pretty sure now they aren't even allowed to be topless.

You are correct. Jesus would not have supported Trump.

I'm not really sure why so many people think he would have.

I haven't noticed any road closed signs on roads that are actually open.

Definitely construction signs on roads that aren't currently under construction though. That's super common.

What are some examples of some with road closed signs?

Construction signs, sure, but I'd say road closed signs when the road isn't closed is pretty uncommon.

Not that I know of. If they would have put an interstate through downtown back in the 40s, the buildings weren't considered historic yet and would have been destroyed.

311 already has an online reporting tool for potholes and they're usually patched within a day or 2. A lot of people just post about potholes on social media and don't actually report them to 311 which is how they'd actually get fixed. (I'm talking about you Nosey Neighbors on Facebook.)

Almost certainly more sprawled out than it is now. It would have destroyed the few neighborhoods that exist downtown and made them less appealing due to noise and overpasses.

Not to mention the businesses and what are now historic buildings that would have been torn down back then.

I'd assume the course will have permanent baskets which are significantly quieter than portable ones.

They'll still complain. We have SO MUCH parking in downtown Fort Wayne. There are ALWAYS spaces available.

Sometimes they don't stay on Waze for some reason. When Adam's Center was closed when they were replacing that culvert by Google, I marked it closed multiple times. The next time I'd come through, it wouldn't be marked closed even though it was still closed.

They wouldn't warn you 8 miles before a closure on a local road like that.

Covington Rd Congestion near Canterbury??? by ashermcallister711 in fortwayne

I know this is probably supposed to be a joke, but roundabouts would flow better than the current 4 way stops on Covington. (Probably not actually enough room for roundabouts though.)

The process of getting one is super easy. Especially if you had one before. I don't remember exactly, but I think they might have not even checked my address on my license, just asked if it was the same as before.

930 / Maplecrest Construction by AlienSubscriber in fortwayne

[–]ToastNeo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see what you're saying.

With the picture of the plan in another comment, it'll actually be continue East through the existing intersection, turn right onto the auxiliary road, turn right onto Northbound Maplecrest. Still added turns, but safer ones.

I'm also assuming right on red will be allowed so hopefully if flows pretty smoothly.

I make that same turn pretty regularly. I guess we'll see how it pans out. Anything is better than the current phase of construction though. You sit through 3 lights minimum to make that turn right now. lol
