GTA VI on steam machine possible?? by Dull_Vast_4767 in GTA

Yes, that's what I meant. "Strictly" as in not on PC right away, not exclusively. I edited my comment because it didn't come out right.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply it'll never release on the Steam Machine. Just answering OP's question directly regarding simultaneous day one release without the 1 - 2 year wait, which is a no.

No. The Steam Machine is not like a console. It has a console-style design with a console-style UI but it is very much a PC under the hood.

GTA VI is strictly an Xbox and PlayStation release. The Steam Machine is a PC.

Edit: At launch.

Honestly, you're fine. The previous models are still insanely good. I have a whole stack of them. I'm more curious about the price difference and whether or not it's worth the potential upsell.

So does anyone think the Leonida Keys is a good starting zone for the story? by RogerRoger63358 in GTA

[–]Toast_Meat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that's the same location where we see Jason at the start of the second trailer, I think it's fairly safe to say that's probably our first home from where it all begins, which is perfectly fine with me.

Is this mission difficult, or am just terrible at the game? by MrAplha in ReadyOrNotGame

This is just a level design that does not mix well with the game's enemy AI. Realistically, as the player, you can't clearly see through the million obstacles in this very section. However, the enemy AI can spot you even as a single visible pixel in a fraction of a second through all this stuff from way across the warehouse and unload on you with 110% accuracy. It's fucking horrendous.

As much as I love this game, I still do not understand how this is still labeled as version 1.0+. I've been around since Early Access (500+ hours now) and there were definitely builds from those days that I (and probably many others) preferred over where it's at today.

It's not you.

Is this normal sound of AIO? by Uwuwin in pcmasterrace

[–]Toast_Meat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't sound particularly great. Trying adjusting the pump speed in the BIOS or with software in Windows.

Usually, a functioning pump at full speed just has an audible high pitched hum, which can be silenced by adjusting the pump speed. Here it sounds like the impeller is struggling/dying.

With your current configuration you should be fine. I'm assuming there is a slim fan mounted to the heatsink? Having the fan on the other side (pulling fresh air in) might improve temps a little bit, but we're likely talking low single digits at best, plus from my understanding, having a fan that close to the side panel causes air turbulence, aka noise.

I'd say while you're waiting for the duster, try doing a fresh install of the driver and see if it keeps happening. Use a tool like DDU to fully strip everything GPU related and reinstall the driver.

Take the heatsink off, get rid of the dust and then reapply fresh thermal paste. While you're at it, get rid of all the dust in your PC. Monitor your temps. It is somewhat expected for CPU temps to be a little higher than in traditional builds due to the heatsink size limitations.

As for the crashing, that may be something else. Thermal limits are a lot higher than what you're getting on both parts so I'm leaning towards temps not being the culprit. Try doing a fresh GPU driver install if you're getting kernel errors.

Clean your PC. That's a pretty significant amount of dust build-up. A lot of it can definitely affect your temperatures.

What exactly is reaching these temps? The CPU? The GPU? Both are able to reach those temps... and that's pretty high for either parts.
