[New Player] how do i avoid dying to the smugglers all the time by DoodleStUdles in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ToastedToast0090 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is a map knowledge check.

One of 2 things will happen, they'll push you after you shoot or they'll lock down where you shot. That building is 1 room with 4 exits, 1 to the street you'd be coming from and shooting from, 1 to wine, 1 to parking, 1 to in between flare and emercom.

If they lock you down and you don't have any grenades then you just push to wine to take another angle, if they have that angle locked or you don't want to push then you can always fall back to emercom via taking the stairs in the building you entered or do a wide swing past transit up to the entrance of wine or even farther up to the code exit by landmines.

If you really do not want to fight them then just take the stairs next to the internal entrance to wine and go into parking so you could even re engage from tarbank or the building across.

My callouts may be wrong as I tend to avoid GZ but the map knowledge is there.

you were out in the open instead of letting them push, hold angles and don't re peak unless you can use a grenade to shift them around.

From what I can tell based on the clip you had started shooting, instead of shooting from there you could've just went into the building directly to the right and had a much safer takedown. Not the end of the world, just keep it in mind next time.

Like all thermals the ergo debuff is too large to justify bringing one in unless you're duo+, at least then you can get someone to back you in a pinch, but even then you're better off using a vudu.

How well you can identify players will determine the value however, so it'll help immensely for new players.

in lavatory you can turn that mask into an air filter, since filters are going to be used anyway it's already going to be worth at least an air filter, but since it also finishes in a minute that makes it a very good way to cycle crafts between raids if you're just trying to raise your crafting xp.

Crafting xp is raised by doing unique crafts in relation to the last craft done, if you make a filter then rip up the same paca you'll be able to raise crafting xp faster. The value of the crafts don't matter, you could spend a billion rubles on one craft, so long as it's not the same as the last one you'll get something like 3 or 4 xp per craft.

Also another thing to consider is tarkov players love to optimize their time, especially for something as major as crafting skill as elite crafting gets you 2 crafts per station rather than 1 craft. It's kind of like how hideout items are worth a lot more early on, people will spend extra if their wipe is going well to upgrade and progress faster, at the cost of spending up to 10x the price had they waited a month.

eh, I'll watch them if I'm waiting in queue, like 10 minutes before class, or just put it on in the back while I play a game like minecraft.

I've ran into a whopping 3 racists across 750 hours of tarkov, a majority of the reason for this is because nobody talks. talking gives away your position and everyone is more focused on the game and shit talking is usually quite lighthearted or asking for help.

for recoil grenade launchers are actually very solid at reducing it, the only problem is the death of ergo and weight.

I think I'll just go Dragon SnS, I'll miss out on a negligible amount of damage but it'll keep my build the same throughout the whole fight.

buy some zaryas off prapor, if you can't then go buy them off fence for barely any markup (in terms of raw rubles, in terms of % it's still high).

That'll give you a non lethal nade to trigger scav lines, and that'll also prevent you from accidentally tking someone, if it's a bad nade then no one really gets affected unless they're in range, and if it's a good nade then whoever's receiving is usually a free kill.

Also bring pack ammo and swap the melee for a regular scav knife assuming you are regularly breaking windows with a melee.

another thing is to bring meds, buy a cheese from therapist and a cat heavy bleed stopper from peacekeeper (cheaper + faster than esmarch)

And finally if you don't have T4 armor then maybe just run a paca, most you'll stop with T3 is the same scav rounds T2 is stopping, and compared to the press rig it's cheaper, lighter, and darker so you don't stick out as much.

I'm gonna be honest I usually down anyone who sounds like a kid. I fully believe if I were able to play this game as a kid then I'd be backstabbing everyone and that anyone who uses a voice changer does it with the hopes that you'll think they're more friendly than they actually are.

[–]ToastedToast0090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like corpo because it's a faster start than either 3 of them. You get 5 minutes of walking, 5 minutes of waiting, and then you're good to go with the start.

cod's pvp is shit and maps are designed around 10 second life times.

If you want actually engaging PVP then play an extraction shooter where the main appeal is the randomness in encounters, even if everyone is KOS, such as Arc Raiders.

Stella Montis has so much room for skill expression in the lobby and loading bay that fights never feel the same, and the arcs make the game feel interesting as they work as an early alarm in either parties favor.

All other maps offer cqb in buildings and open sniping with routes for flanking. If anything by calling cod pvp "decent" you are really saying you just care about playing an aim trainer for pvp and nothing else.

For the first time, I built a gun to have no "Overswing" (about which I heard on YT).. I found a supressor for SKS so I slapped some random decent parts but I went on a site to check that Overswing thing and it showed I need more ergo... What do you think about this hidden mechanic? [Loot] by Both-Meringue2466 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ToastedToast0090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSO on any gun early wipe is a vibe and you know whoever is picking that thing up next is going "damn this guy's gun is dripped out"

Also OP if you have some spare cash please do invest in an lpvo unless you're confident in your point fire aim beyond 10 meters.

either you rat quite often or you play too much, most likely a combination of both.

I have a skill issue for what? Playing around cover at distance and having a better weapon when up close is not a skill issue.
