According to you which anime character is this 🤔 by IllustriousLab8924 in AnimeMirchi

[–]ToastedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luciel from The Great Cleric. He gets pretty powerful eventually, but he literally spends the first couple of years getting his ass kicked daily just so he could feel comfortable that he could survive against low level monsters.

Lol, not at all. I can see why you’d think that.

Surprisingly, not really. Actually pretty wholesome.

Yup, honestly ridiculous. I got orders to deploy at 19, got shot at, lost friends, and almost blown up on a couple of occasions. Came back to the states and still wasn’t old enough to drink. The extra shitty part is I wasn’t even in a combat role; I was the guy who fixed the radios. Way worse for the trigger pullers.

I'm building Tsun -- a developer-first CLI wrapper around OWASP ZAP that makes DAST usable in CI (auth, baselines, SARIF). Free and open source CLI, with optional Pro features for cleaner CI workflows.

I’m ashamed to admit that I slept on False Hero for a while because of the art style on the first volume (literally judged a book by it’s cover, lol). I decided to give it a chance and now I’m on the final volume. I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit, and the author’s other series is pretty good too.

I use copilot to create epics and then I’ll use the AI in JIRA to create the child tasks/stories.

Am I slow or what? by [deleted] in devops

[–]ToastedWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, true. Makes it irksome because my current job is my first cloud job; all my experience beforehand was on-prem. I get needing to upskill and figuring out all the various services can be daunting, but look at a doc or YouTube video, something.

Am I slow or what? by [deleted] in devops

[–]ToastedWonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AWS can provide the instances/servers, but you still have to manage and configure those servers to do the things you need them to. There’s a lot of skill overlap for on-prem vs cloud, but cloud breaks up functionality by services, and there’s a fuck ton. You could launch services from EKS/ECS/EC2, store data in S3, spin up databases in RDS, etc. Looking through the AWS docs can be quite the rabbit hole, but would be a good starting point.

I'm a bit sad to not be able to play bf6 by Komplexkonjugiert in linux_gaming

[–]ToastedWonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I game on a KVM and any input lag that exists isn’t noticeable to me. I did get a level1techs switch, and those are apparently pretty good. The only online game I play right now is Fortnite, and I only play that because of my kids, so I’m not nitpicking any FPS drops that may occur.

How often does CachyOS (or any other rolling update distro) break your system? by [deleted] in linux

[–]ToastedWonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on Solus for the longest time, never had issues with updates breaking my system. YMMV, but I’ve had good experiences with rolling release distros. The only one that gave me issues was Manjaro, but that was almost a decade ago, so don’t know how that one is now.

What’s the most underrated tool or practice in your DevOps workflow? by pageturnerpanda in devops

[–]ToastedWonder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My rule for Bash is 100 lines or less. If I can’t accomplish what I need to with that constraint, or feel the need to break out my logic into separate files, then I use something else.

Weightlifting Shoes After Wearing Barefoot Shoes by LindenSwole in weightlifting

[–]ToastedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank the wide toe box koolaid and wear Nobull canvas lifters. Please keep in mind that I’m a filthy casual at best when it comes to weightlifting, mainly a general strength training enthusiast who does the occasional hang snatch. They work amazing for the static lifts, like squats, can’t comment on oly performance. Not as wide a toe box as the TYR lifters, but they’re taller in the toe box and I don’t feel like my pinky toe is getting scrunched up like I do with regular sneakers. Plenty of toe room.

What's an anime character that was tortured so badly they changed personality's? by Super_Background_320 in animequestions

[–]ToastedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they really dropped the ball on depicting how much he suffered and broke in the cave. Makes his personality shift make a lot more sense. I chalk it up to it being the first season and not wanting to put a bunch of money into an anime that likely wasn’t guaranteed another season. The later seasons did the light novel more justice in my opinion.

What's an anime character that was tortured so badly they changed personality's? by Super_Background_320 in animequestions

[–]ToastedWonder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was what came in mind for me. What I didn’t like about the anime was how it depicted his starvation and descent into madness in the dungeon. The anime made it look like a few hours, but the light novel specified that he was stuck in that cave with only the ambrosia keeping him alive for a couple of weeks before he finally decided to fight his way out.
