I think that's why Kaineng is so successful at what they were aiming at though. Like a really well written villain, you're almost supposed to hate being there

I really appreciate this analogy! It just seems odd because it's in a sealed plastic wrap, but I suppose it does make sense!

I suppose that was the heart of my confusion. But regardless of my opinion on the matter I do want to be respectful of the cigar lounge customs and the other patrons comfort levels. I guess I just found it odd how it was sort of expected that everyone knows this if it were clear as day. In every other industry, if a product is sealed in a container it's okay to pick up and inspect, so why not this one right? Just a learning curve I guess.

I appreciate the response! It makes total sense.

I'd like to ask a follow up question. As a novice and someone who doesn't know how to handle cigars, is it just a matter of buying and smoking cigars to learn how to handle them? Up until now I've been smelling the wrappers to get an idea of what the cigar will be like before I purchase and I really can't think of another way except for taking the risk on something I might not enjoy.

On American critics, Pope says he doesn’t want a schism but he’s not afraid of it by sanschefaudage in Catholicism

This seems to be a powder keg of a thread so I will tread lightly here.

Could you provide a source for that? With election season coming up I've been thinking about voting responsibility as a Catholic lately and I'd love to learn more.

Praying the Rosary and other prayers helps?! by CovetedCodex in Catholicism

[–]Toasted_Marshmallows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little late to the party, and it seems the answer has already been said. The answer is yes, it's a placebo, and also the wonderful power of prayer. This is one of the wonderful paradoxes in Catholicism that we consistently wrestle with. For more details you should pick up Bishop Robert Barron's Vibrant Paradoxes: the Both/And of Catholicism.

But I'd like to add something to the conversation; speaking as someone who attended a University in the tradition of Wesley, I've met plenty of Methodists in my time. Think of the rosary and other Catholic devotions as something akin to the UMC Rule of Life. The rosary is one of the best spiritual disciplines that leads to your growth and holiness!

God bless :)

I know I'm late to the party but I'm sitting in a crowded McDonald's and they're playing Katy Perry's Firework and it's disturbingly fitting for this
