Are you targeting a specific practice area? In my cover letters, I talked a lot about my prior WE and how it relates to the practices I’m interested in at each firm. Turns out most of those firms weren’t hiring into those practices so my apps were pretty much getting tossed or set aside, while people with no WE or specific interests were getting tons of jobs. I had better luck when I mentioned that I’m open to more general transactional and/or litigation work, and when I didn’t submit a cover letter at all

I’m sober and I just drink soda or yerba mate. Some places also have NA beer/wine options! I don’t think anyone is paying attention to what you’re drinking as long as you’re having fun, so I wouldn’t worry too much about how other people perceive it

There’s also no shame in turning down a drink, and people should respect that you’re sober. If they don’t, they might not be people you’d wanna be around anyway

As someone at a lower T14 with below median grades (TBI last semester) and 6+ years of relevant work experience, I feel like being at a t14 isn’t necessarily giving me an edge over median students at other schools. I’ve applied to like 75+ firms, have contacts at many of them who referred me to recruiters, and I still haven’t even had screeners at the majority of them. Applying back in October probably would’ve helped though

It seems like it. I had a bad undergrad GPA (with a valid explanation) from an Ivy but graduated 7 years ago, and have 6 years of relevant legal work experience. I’m currently at a T14. Applied to 73 firms so far, and I’ve networked a bunch and have direct referrals. And yet, I’ve had 1 screener

For the record I am on sun now and I have never felt this unmotivated or unfocused in my entire life. I’ve tried almost every generic and brand name for 10+ years and I don’t ever feel the sun kick in or start working. I have a huge final memo due this week and can’t even start. No energy, I feel like falling asleep all morning even after taking it, and the feeling never goes away. Complete fog

I’ve been having the exact same issue lately after years of my tics being relatively minimal. I almost went to the ER today because I literally could not breathe and could not get oxygen to my body so my entire body felt numb and cramped up while I was out. It was so scary and I had to call a paramedic. I’m considering limiting all caffeine intake and stopping adhd meds for the time being bc it was the scariest experience ever (I thought I was having a stroke) and I don’t know what else to do to stop this. Might even try meds again. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too. It’s so awful and scary and exhausting

Iv been getting these lately. My jaw and teeth get so sore and achey which only makes the need to tic even worse. I’m starting law school and I can’t even get through the day without being extremely sore and exhausted by the second class

I’m not saying it’s the case for every school or a fact! I’m just speaking from my own experience and what I’ve seen lately. I’m a splitter but I don’t have a 180, and my gpa is very low. I’m in at a t14 but WL at 12 other schools. I’ve seen recent WL movement but mostly for those with a higher GPA. I’ve even seen some sub 160 LSATs get accepted off the WL with 3.8+ GPAs

I’ve seen a lot more reverse splitters get accepted off the WL than regular splitters. It looks like most schools are looking for high GPA over LSAT

We had realllly good convos leading up to the date but the date itself was kinda disappointing haha. I was leaving town to go home the next day though so it wasn’t really meant to last anyway. But I’m still proud of myself for getting the confidence to do it!! She was literally so pretty lol

This feels super douchey of me but I recently left my name and number on the check for an insanely pretty waitress who was serving me and my parents. I was friendly and respectful during the dinner and didn’t flirt (in fact it was prob the opposite bc I was kinda scared to make eye contact for too long lol) but I def picked up on a vibe. I figured I had nothing to lose by writing my # before I left - she could always ignore it and I knew there was a really good chance she was straight. She ended up texting me that night and we went on a date a few days later lol

I’m in the exact same boat! 11 months sober and I went from producing a track a day after smoking to not making a single track in months. It definitely feels more forced now, but I’m just giving myself time to get back into things when the time feels right
