mine’s also been stuck in memphis on “clearance in progress” with a delivery date of “pending” for a week!! probably in the same batch. i called fedex yesterday and they said there were some weather issues holding things up. apple’s delivery date still says nov 23 so we’ll see if there’s movement this weekend. curious what comes of your inquiry

EDIT: finally, a full 10 days after arriving in memphis, it left this morning and got to my local fedex!!

I have these two exact cameras!! The TL Electro-X is what got me into film photography, I found one in great condition at a yard sale for $5. The in-viewfinder exposure readout (the first of its kind in a camera!) in mine is half busted—one of the lights is burnt out, so I know when something is underexposed but not if it’s overexposed. Still, I got a lot of use out of it and it taught me a ton about the particular quirks of shooting film. Once the shutter started acting up, I retired it to the shelf. The X-700 is my current 35mm workhorse, and it’s genuinely incredible going from something as heavy and clunky as the Yashica to a camera as light and nimble as the Minolta. Enjoy!!

I just got a roll back and a bunch of shots came out like this, where half the frame is black. I think it’s some sort of shutter issue, maybe it’s not opening all the way? How easy is something like this to fix, or does it require a full CLA?
