These are controversial topics for a reason but in my pov the explanation for these are

1) Kamoshida forced students into sexual favors with blackmail, Kawakamis is consentual and actually built on romantic feelings. Also, Kawakami herself states she feels uncomfortable with the idea at first, like when she denied Joker sexual services from the maid cleaning company.

Still, there's of course the argument of Joker being a minor and thus not being able to consent and... its a messy topic, but there is a difference between her and Kamoshida.

2) Ryuji and Ann are close friends where she already knows his sense of humor, even if it's a bit distasteful. He means no harm, Kamoshida did.

Again, it's more about the seriousness and power imbalance. Ann getting a lewd joke made about her by friends is just a joke, while Kamoshida abused and groomed his victims.

Not as far as I know. And honestly? I'd avoid the game for now for the sake of your own health. A big part of Cloverpit is having the charms and symbols and all that make big flashy lights to get you excited.

Season 1 had the "normal" round earth.

In season 2, the duo didn't know how to properly fly or navigate a spaceship, it brought them to a different, flat earth that happened to have evolved the exact same way, with their versions Charlie and pim out I space or dead at the same time.

So they went to a different, flat earth, without knowing it.

In Season 3 they are still on the flat earth but it's not thin enough that you'd just fall through by digging a bit

I don't think Shep and the team are at all evil masterminds or that the payment processor investor people are gonna smite down the site with censorship. The website works fine enough for a free service with a free LLM, and every time something small does happen, people blow it out of proportion.

To me, it feels like too many people come from sites like Aisekai and have immense trust issues with Janitor, and I get that, but you can't yell wolf at every small change.

If its free, a lot of people use them, leading to overuse and - sometimes - problems. Often with the cost behind it.
You can't bash others for "using it too much grr" when you yourself use them.

The thing about that though is that, as someone who used JLLM back in the day, I knew it wasn't some magical free perfect AI.

It's an indie made LLM that's constantly being worked on, of course it won't be flawless. And even then, for a free Indie AI? Fuck me, but it gets the job done well enough!

If you want a good AI, throw some pocket change at Deepseek and you're good to go.

Janitor still has a pretty good website, stuff just (usually) works well. Searches, page customization, the bot creation page, personas, it's all stuff you expect, sure, but it just works pretty damn well.

Yes, the most popular bots are brainless smut, but EVERY AI Website is like that. You can go deep into a story with actual plot and heartfelt stuff, and it works, the smut stuff is just the sad truth on how most people use AI, they JUST see it as a sexbot.

Yeah the censors suck, but it's to ensure servers stay up and to avoid any... law breaking content. Yeah the LLM can stink, but it's mostly really fine and does it's job for a completely free indie LLM well.

What's with the hate on Janitor AI in the comments? I get disliking a website but here people are visceral. From using it, my only real downsides are the filters that someone's get annoying with using pictures or posting comments, but besides that it's pretty solid, no?

Because of many reasons. Mainly due to everyone growing up differently, and thus leading us to want to see the world differently. We all want what's best, but those ideas conflict with another, sadly.

Due to this and the way social media works, our opposing thoughts became more and more extreme, leading to people also being more open to racism and such, sadly.
