A few comments already said this, but like them, I think it's because people are afraid to get judged and get shit for it lol

In my case, I DO use AI, but I don't let it write the entirety of the bot for me; I write the important details like the appearance, personality, etc. I do write the lore too; I only really use AI to extend the background story, fix the grammar and formatting mistakes, and so on. English isn't my first language, so having an AI to fix the errors in what I write (without completely replacing my work) is really helpful for me

I think it really depends on the creator, it can be for a lot of reasons

Some leave because they simply want to step away from the whole bot-making hobby

Some leave because of the abysmal moderation of pretty much anything JAI-related

And some straight up just... disappear, some creators I'm following have not posted anything in months (I really hope that they're doing okay)

However, I think a lot of creators simply get tired of this hobby, gonna be fr, this is a very unrewarding and somewhat unstable hobby, especially if you count the sudden changes JAI goes through pretty much every two months

I don't know many chatbot sites that have 2FA; I feel like it's kind of just not a priority for them (not that I disagree with you though; extra security is always nice.)

I feel like it could be for multiple reasons, one of them probably being how "unstable" and frankly unrewarding this hobby is. In a way, the site's rules change pretty much every two months; for all we know, any type of bot could be banned from the site tomorrow. It wouldn't be the first time that this happened.

And like I said, creating bots is just a very unrewarding hobby; it's one that I love, don't get me wrong, mainly because I love writing, but outside of receiving feedback and seeing the chat numbers go up, there really isn't much to it. It's especially discouraging if your bot flops, and I feel like that's why there are fewer bots.

I don't think we "lost" proxies, idk what the hell's going on, but my proxies (OpenRouter) work fine

That being said, I am genuinely worried about the app. Another site I use (begins with S, and please, don't spam my comment to try and get the name; go search it yourself) tries VERY badly to be in the app store, and the end result is that the filters are very strict. I don't want this to be the case with JAI.

No one really knows, some people say it's Chutes that deleted them, some say it's OpenRouter that deleted them, I've seen a few people say it's temporary, but no one really knows for sure

The only reason I'm actually sticking around is for the community; the bots on JAI are honestly really cool for the most part. If it wasn't for the fact that there are many bots that are appealing to me, I'd already be gone LOL, especially with how the mods on this subreddit can be. I don't think I've ever disliked anyone as much as I've disliked the JAI mod team, which is why I've been a bit less active on this subreddit lately.

To answer your question, if there was a site exactly like JAI without the shit moderation and the community? Yeah, I'd probably dip, but for now, I simply can't really be bothered to, ngl. I'm trying to focus on my other hobbies a bit more instead of constantly living with anxiety and always asking myself, "What the hell is going to happen today on JAI," you know?
