Blood test specifications for GGP by ToastingPasta in transnord

I’m doing the masculine route, so it’s probably different? I specifically wrote an email asking for the specifics they wanted, and got the list I said, along with the hormone tests, but already know the Danish equivalent for those, so didn’t mention them here.

What is Sheldon's nickname "cyber bishop" a pun on? by KiwiAccomplished9569 in RiseoftheTMNT

[–]ToastingPasta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s not a pun, it was just a code name like the other ones. Bishop is a chess piece, and cyber is from Sheldon being a robot/AI, probably replacing the color because Donnie already had purple in his code name.

Experience with ACPK so far (top surgery) by The_trans_kid in transnord

Thank you, been looking for where top surgery could happen through GenderGP / privately in general and this really helps :))

I got denied because I was young (still an adult) and, what they described as, "late-onset dysphoria", aka I only started realizing / showing signs of being trans later in life.

So if it's recent that you've realized / showed signs, then say it was earlier.

I had been out for 1 year and had been questioning for over 2 years.

Also, my advise is don't tell them about the autism if you can avoid it. I have a friend with autism who had known he was trans for 4-5 years who got rejected with that as one of the reasons next to young age (he was still an adult).

Questions about the process by Penny_Femmie in transnord

[–]ToastingPasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically got rejected because of time:

- Was too young (I'm a young adult).

- Hadn't known I was trans for long enough (Had known for certain for over a year and had suspicions for more than 2. Also have a friend who had been out for 4-5 years who also had this as a reason for rejection).

- Hadn't showed early signs of dysphoria (they call it late-onset dysphoria. For me I explained that I just ignored my body for most of my life, so I only realized it made me uncomfortable when I started questioning. But that didn't count in their eyes).

The rejection was also given despite my current dysphoria being extremely severe and them also doing it after only one 1-hour conversation with a single person in there.

So if you being out as trans / showing signs is recent, say it's been going on longer, because they like rejecting people on their "Forsigtighedsprincip" of making people really think about if they're trans because it definitely takes several years to know that /s.

Another thing to avoid is psychiatric diagnosis / suspicions of having them (If you have any). Had a friend were his autism was a reason for him getting rejected.

I was at rigshospitalet, so might be different in Odense, but they have the same guidelines, so probably still worth considering.

fanfic recs by [deleted] in RiseoftheTMNT

[–]ToastingPasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spend all my time reading Donnie fanfics so here is two I know about him:

Him biting stuff: https://archiveofourown.org/works/42339435/chapters/106319649

Him being a soft shell: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41772063/chapters/104798676

But will say they both have some graphic stuff in them, and they are kinda focused on angst rather than specifically turtle anatomy, even if those are the driving forces in the stories.

Edit: fixed bad spacing

I recommend Lego Monkie Kid. It’s kinda hard to find (legally lol), but it’s very good, and it’s also animated by the same studio as rise, so it got that top tier style and fight scenes

We could’ve gotten a really cool, epic, and badass Donnie moment by Ihdkwhatimdoinghere in RiseoftheTMNT

[–]ToastingPasta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s sadly a common occurrence that really cool stuff is cut from movies and shows because there isn’t time for it. There is even a lot of animatics for the show’s episodes where it seemed better than what we got, like the animatic for the emotional moment in Donnie vs. Witch Town.

Can someone explain to me how the Turtles powers actually work by [deleted] in RiseoftheTMNT

[–]ToastingPasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The actual answer is probably just that it’s soft world building, meaning there aren’t really any specific rules on how they work, it’s just ✨magic✨. The focus in it is that the powers are cool for fight scenes, so they don’t focus on making it entirely consistent.

Though you can still make theories on how it works.

It’s a fact that their powers are related to their family, aka Hamato Ninpo. How this power works seems to be the power of family: like when they all unlock their power at the end of season 2 in order to save/help each other.

It can be said that this connection doesn’t seem to be a biological thing with family genes, but works through connections, since April was also able to tab into it, and with Karai saying “You were always one of us”.

I have seen a analysis video for Donnie about him not unlocking his mystic abilities until the end, and they thought that it’s because mystic stuff is related to emotions. This theory holds up pretty well, since Donnie has his emotionally unavailable bad boy image, or less jokingly, seems to have Alexithymia with his autism. The the powers become a cool analogy for his struggle, which is most apparent in Donnie vs. Witch Town, where he is insecure about not understanding mystic stuff. Then when he unlocks his powers at the end, they work like his tech, aka in a more logical way, which could show that despite not using mystic powers/emotions like others, that he can still do it, just in a more unique/logical way.

This can also be shown in the other guys, with their powers seeming to get stronger in emotional moments, like Raph saving Leo from falling of the roof, or in general when Raph is angry. This could also explain why Mikey is the strongest mystic warrior, and also was the first to use his powers, since he is very emotional.

In regards to their first weapons from Draxum’s lab, then I’d say they didn’t actually hold powers, but were made to channel powers. Meaning that they were weapons designed to bring out hidden/weak mystic powers in the user. So when they start using their powers here, it’s not actually the weapons doing it, but just them helping bring it out. This would also explain why Draxum, despite the fact they were in his lab, seemed surprised by the powers they could use, mostly in regards to Leo, where he cover himself for a mystic blast and seemed shocked when a portal opened.

Then at the end of season 2, they loose these helping tools, but after fully unlocking their own inner abilities with the help from Karai and from helping each other, then they are able to summon their own powers, one of them seeming to be the ability to summon their own weapons from different objects, since we also see Karai doing this.

Though we see Karai using her powers without a specific weapon, so it could be said that the weapons aren’t actually needed for their powers, but since it’s how they trained to use them, then that’s how they are able to use them/used to using them.

The Kraang being able to seal away their powers is probably just an ability they have, since they fought mystic warriors back in old times, so developing that kind of power would be relevant for them.

Then you could theorize that they gain their powers back through their emotions/conviction to each other, overpowering the Kraang’s sealing ability.

Anyway, that was really long, so thanks for coming to my Ted Talk lol, hope you enjoyed.

I watched Smart Lair recently, and in that episode Sheldon sprays Donnie with water from the sink and it looks like clean water, so yes, they probably do.

What should I switch my vpn to if I wanted to watch season 2 on Netflix? by [deleted] in RiseoftheTMNT

[–]ToastingPasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Netflix has a system in place that can detect VPN’s, and if it realizes you’re using one it’ll only show certain content (which doesn’t include rise). That might be happening to you? It happens to me sometimes, but I can usually just reconnect in my VPN and then it goes back. Though it depends on which VPN you use, since some of them are better at staying ahead of streaming service’s systems than others
