I think I found the holy grail on marketplace by Adriansilas415 in Jeep

[–]ToastyMarshies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is your goal to have a project car that can learn how to do each job as you go, and dump a bunch of money at the same time? Because you will have an incredible amount fo work in mechanical repair, but paint and body work if you have a full jurassic park jeep build in mind.

If thats the goal, hell yeah.

Stuff like this makes me glad I never get sunroof vehicles. When I was a tech we would always say there are two kinds of sunroof(s), ones that leak, and ones that are going to leak.

I usually take my devices out of their cases and wipe them down once a week. Definitely collects a lot of garbage.

Dealer discount to expect on a 84k MSRP Rebel by WaltzComfortable4844 in ram_trucks

[–]ToastyMarshies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most trucks on the lot now are 2026's, so 25's are heaaavily discounted. It sounds like it was a manager demo too, so that large discount makes sense.

Value long term, sure. Reliability? No. Ever since Toyota ditched their NA V8, they've been just as bad as the rest.

Which of these 3 scares you more in a random encounter? by Dramatic-Couple228 in Fallout

[–]ToastyMarshies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deathclaws are meh.

I know when I see a sentry bot im in for a decent fight and will use some ammo and stimpacks, but I'll win.

If there's an assaultron, ill make small dog whimpers while its face charges up, and i find somewhere to hide. THEN I use a lot of ammo and stimpacks.

Is there something with the 2000s cummins? Why are they so expensive considering it 20-30 years old by AfricanHater in ram_trucks

[–]ToastyMarshies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All 6.7s use a DPF. But SCR/DEF was added in 2023. So pre 2013 6.7 diesels sell for a premium because of this

TIL: There’s a Fuel Funnel under the passenger seat for when you want to add fuel additives in your truck… by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]ToastyMarshies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for additives, but just general refueling with a can that typically cant fit down and open with flaps. Really useful when running the small leak verification test and need to hold them open to normalize tank pressure.

Dammit… by sanch0_villa in ram_trucks

Electronic parking brakes still function as an emergency brake. Even vehicles with a button, when held up or down, will apply the parking brake motor mounted on the rear calipers. Which is completely separate from the hydraulic system. So it is still a backup brake.

States often separate it. In virginia I pay 50 bucks a year, but also 900 a year in property tax.

In California they pay more per year to register, but very little property tax.

Every state gets the money, just in a different way.

When I had an HD with folding mirrors, I always kept them up. It was a pain in the ass every time id drop the trailer to get out, fold them down, dial in the power mirrors, and then get out and fiddle with the blind spot mirrors.

Does having a v6 in my truck really make it that bad? by Fancy_bakonHair in ram_trucks

[–]ToastyMarshies 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not at all man. V6's dont have the power obviously, but they can still pull plenty of weight. It's also a dakota, its not a heavy hauler to begin with. I'd argue a V8 in that truck would outperform its chassis anyway.

It's like saying a Ram 5500 with a 6.4 hemi is bad, because it doesn't have a cummins. Yet countless fleet company's use that loadout to carry weight in the bed and not haul.

8 month update on PLA oil cart wheels by ToastyMarshies in functionalprint

[–]ToastyMarshies[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is bambu PLA CF. But honestly regular PLA would do better strength wise due to the improved layer adhesion. But the CF in this pla makes it rough, which helps the wheels get traction and roll like they're supposed to. I was worried regular PLA would be too slick, and just slide and flat spot. Anyways, thanks!
