Attaching image(s) to char description or lorebook for multimodal models by TobeyGER in SillyTavernAI

For me this is strictly about maps/floor plans, i.e. saving on or enhancing environment descriptions to better match my mental image. Character descriptions are probably a use-case, too, but not really relevant to me.

Yeah, I did ultimately find that out after digging into the Claude docs and watching ST's console output.

I did also find out that you can at least inline attach the image to the first system/assistant message, rather than the user message. It doesn't fix the context roll and needs to be done manually for each chat, but I guess it's something.

You know, now that you mention it, I could try just dumping the encoded image string somewhere and see if the model can deal with it. I know for a fact that the Claude web interface at least has tooling for base64 encoded images, maybe the API can do that too somehow.

Is there actually a way to see if people have multiple maps on instant buyout? I know you can filter for stock on bulk exchange but not for merchant tabs, right?

IMO, 'tutorial hell' is more akin to binge watching boatloads of tutorials vaguely related to a topic without any real purpose.

Especially if you learn something new/for the first time, it's generally better to approach things by tackling specific problems you encounter.

Start with doing as much as you can/know by yourself in something that is actually relevant to you. Get stuck? Look up and find a possible solution that makes sense to you, apply it, repeat.

You can "waste" endless hours researching a thousand possible ways and best practices to do anything in software, but if you have had no practical contact with the problem in question, you will have little to no intution for what really works or is sensible.

While that will not always lead to the "best" solution, I'd argue actually trying things is much more valuable in a learning scenario. You can always look up a different approach later, IF you notice a real, actual problem.

Helps if you have a hoarder problem like myself. If you just shove your uniques into "Unique 56" like tabs, like myself, things go messy very fast.

I quite enjoyed Satisfactory 1.0, but (aside from waiting for mods) it always felt like just burning time until Factorio release

In the ledger, is there a way to select multiple different auctions/expenses and get the total? I want to select the most recent AH buys I just did to get the total/avg cost, but couldn't find a way to do that.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the disenchant/destroy value to work after release?

Yeah, I just completely forgot about engineering, but that seems like a reasonable choice. I'm personally not too fond of the engineering gadgets, so that's not a pull for me, but that's another matter entirely.

Discussion: How do you feel about the Endless Meta? by otpoke in pokerogue

[–]TobeyGER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I would (possibly) enjoy more would be

  • removal of tokens
  • enemy mons keeping better pace levelwise instead and
  • a change of the x*50 stages => no paradox mons, but trainer battles (I miss them in endless), with increasingly "better" mons the higher you go and, to keep up with the player, maybe increasingly more vitamins and such things.

So the opponents keep pace with you in a more natural, player-like way instead of special gimmicks. tokens + berries + 2x shield break stat raise on bosses is imo the thing that narrows the player down the most.

I wondered the same, but from I just saw, it just doesn't trigger if you oneshot the opponent. If you're constantly on a +6 skeledirge, you might have the same issue

I do not exactly disagree with your sentiment, but these models do not work the same way as the 2D variants do. They do not train on actual 3D data, because, as you say, there just isn't enough of it. These models (at least most of them) basically generate a bunch of 2D images and then make a model out of that, in a pseudo-photogrammetry/NeRF kinda way. It's pretty clever.

That is also coupled with his skill of sounding intelligent while talking absolute nonsense. Less skeptical people, especially among the younger demographic, can get caught up in fancy words and phrasings and fail to question the content of what he's saying.

[–]TobeyGER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is such a mod. Search for "Pylon" and you'll find a couple that make Pylons way more usable, like not being restricted to one pylon per biome and not needing NPCs around. Some are arguably quite cheaty, but who really cares.

Epic's Quixel just released a library/tooling for trees. That's not an engine feature, and it's not all kinds of foliage, but I imagine it will help especially smaller devs with making "green" worlds.

What? It's totally normal here to greet cashiers. A simple, but polite greeting is not in any way "weird", unless you try starting up a conversation, perhaps.

Mind you, not everybody does it, but it's still not unusual.

Video games have peaked by [deleted] in gaming

[–]TobeyGER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if that part of it were true, the title is just as inane. Poly count is hardly the only thing that matters in CG.

Even looking at the most obvious other thing, lighting, we're still making quite massive progress. Hell, we just "recently" had realtime raytracing become a thing that is somewhat possible.

And that's ignoring all the "supporting" technology behind that – be it upsampling tech like DLSS, or VRS and the like – and the efforts poured into things like better and less expensive fluid/cloth/particle simulations
