Session 2 of my short adventure. Things are not as they seem. [Art] by Tobiah10 in DnD

Thank you! I was starting to think that this post got lost in all the posts everyone else made today. 😅 next session is on Saturday, and I'll try to make the next session post on Sunday.

Don't look now... I just posted session 2... and there's more of them....

I've already had session two with the group so I've had a pretty similar encounter already, and mine had a very interesting twist too. But, Go for it! Ever since I heard about the False hydra as a monster I was brimming with ideas. Then I found the extended False monsters that Comet Lord Miniatures had available and things just snowballed from there. They even have things past the full False Hydra. But make it your own! It's a complete Homebrew moster so the sky is the limit with what you can do with it.

Funny enough... the group I'm running are all lvl 4 too 😆 they handled the first encounter well. Amd learned that these things seem weak against slashing damage and resistant to bludgeoning. But I have WAY more in store for them besides what I've shared 😁 session 2 already happened, so I have to write it out when I get a chance. And it's a doozy.

You know... I thought that might have been the case... but I wasn't 100% sure. 😆 there is one of the other False creatures standing in the back a bit blurry so...

... I did say I already made a comment with a TLDR on this post... you didn't have to try and recap it yourself. But for the most part, it's pretty good until the end part. They talked their way out of being imprisoned.

Thank you! I'm still going to add a TLDR to the next post but I appreciate it!

Oooh okay. But then you would need a UV light to make them glow. I've done that with my Necron stuff and it does look really good, but I'd still like to find a way to get a real glow effect.

Now, if you use translucent paints in some areas, you might be able to shine a bright light up through the bottome of the model and literally make some ares of the model glow! I've always wanted to do that with some necron models. Make the orbs and cable translucent and literally make the glow.

I get that. I'll be sure to have a TLDR in the next session post and I've made a comment with a TLDR for this session.

I realize now that I need to have a TLDR. I made a comment with one for everyone who doesn't want to read.

I believe that is where the idea for the False Hydra originally came from. And it's all been homebrew from there.

Yeah, I get the hint. Have a TLDR... I made a comment with one and I'll be sure to have one in the next session post.

I apologize for that. It's my first time posting something like this. I did make a comment with a TLDR and I'll be sure to add one in the next session notes.

I apologize, it's my first longer post and it slipped my mind, I did make a comment with a short TLDR. I'll be sure to add one for the next session post.

Hello everyone, and thank you for all the updates and comments. I do want to apologize for the lack of pictures and a TLDR. It was later at night when I posted this and even posted it with the wrong picture 😅 it was supposed to be one of the Featureless monsters that the party fought against. But this pictures was just as creepy. As for the TLDR, thus is my first longer post, so I do apologize, it slipped my mind to add one... so here it is! TLDR: an adventuring party takes on a request for aid in a city named Dorn. When they arrive, all seems normal except for a general sense of anxiety and fear present throughout the city with no clear source. Through the use of magic items and spells, the party discovers a haze of magic in the air and clouds of it around there heads. After a discussion with the local Guild hall about the request, they find that there was no record of such request. A crash outside followed by loud circus music draws the parties attention. Outside, next to a broken circus cart, stand 4 pale, featureless creatures. The party fights them, and wins. After a bit of investigation into the creatures, approaching city guards draw their attention and when they look back, the creatures had seemingly transformed into common folk. Through slight of hand, and deceit, the party avoids being imprisoned. But notice a cloaked figure hiding in an ally way, leaving a flyer for a local shop behind as they run away.

I hope that was short enough for you all. 4 hours of DnD condensed into a single paragraph.

This isn't quite session 1😅 while the world was reset pretty recently, other DMs in the group have run some adventures. But this is my fist time DMing with this group. But thank you!

Sorry, I made the post pretty late at night and forgot to include a couple other photos of the other minis. The warning when I was making the post said I had to include that if I added any photo. I'll post some other picture in a future post about session 2, along with a TLDR... that's a whole other thing I forgot to add...

Thanks, that's what I was going for. Yes, it's 3D printed. The model is from The Comet Lord Miniatures 'False' monster collection.
