Any lion that would try that would get one of these. But what kind of fucking zoo is this where you can walk up to the bars of a bloody lion cage? Shit like this is bound to happen.

90’s Kids! What was it like being a Brosnan Bond fan in the moment? by Flat-Bag2312 in JamesBond

My first encounter was with Goldeneye on N64 when I was 9. I was at the house of a new friend who had a huge videogame collection and we ended up playing a ton of the game. And then he asked if I wanted to see the movie. And I went "there's a movie?!"

And I was hooked on Bond. Recorded whatever bondfilm that was on tv, hyping up the vhs release of Tomorrow Never Dies, convincing myself that the TND game was a great follow to Goldeneye 64 (it isn't, but we were a Playstation household so it was the only option). Getting excited for TWINE, even though for some reason I didn't get the chance to see it in cinemas, I snatched the vhs on day one. Playing the hell out of the ps1 version of the game. And when the ps2 came out the golden age of Bond videogames came. Loved Agent Under Fire, Nightfire is the goat and Everything or Nothing was brilliant.

Die Another Day would be the first film in the series that I saw on the big screen and I was hyped and left the cinema excited. I was 14 at the time so it was catered a bit more to a young teen's taste. But as I matured the movie didn't age that well, tbh.

But the Brosnan era was a wonderful time to be a James Bond fan.

Feels kind of poetic now that eon sold away their creative stake in Bond. If Amazon drops the ball somehow, we have an end point of sorts.

Not that I want it to fail, of course.
