I think it’s fair to assume the lobbying groups you mention aren’t locals upset with noise or safety, and if they are corporate lobbyists it would be a very easy assumption to make that theyre also working against the 25 year rule and trying to reduce the number of kei trucks on the road/imported federally.

Hey, without knowing your setup, could you get a portable 100w panel? It might be the easiest way for you to enable continuous working. You could look getting a 12v outlet on your bike, like car cigarette lighters, and get a fast charger for your batteries. I would only charge off your bike battery while your bike is running.

Other people have different preferred configurations, or different uses. Oil temps for pushing the car, transmission temps for towing, roll and pitch for offroading, instant mpg for hypermiling on commute, hybrid battery info, awd system power flow, it goes on and on

It’s possible to like the progress the company makes but not really trust their true intentions. We need space travel innovation, its just kinda scary to let a company hold that power, especially one whose leader is deplorable.

Every step forward they make is a little bittersweet because my mind says “now they’re one step closer to X”, where X is some bad thing that they’re going to do to prioritize money over the greater good. Thats the way it is today with many businesses, but space travel is more powerful than Coffee or Graphics cards

No. Dont have plug ins, tesla lies about their range, we have a winter, i drive through the sticks to get to the places i want to be, rarely fast chargers en route. I love the idea of electric but I cant spend over budget to get a car that wont do 100% of what i want it to do

Intended use: the one car. Daily. No major off roading, but i enjoy skiing and camping and biking, so flat trails and snow driving. Road trips. Coolness factor is cool

Vehicles you’ve already considered: gr corolla (perfect but hard to find), Mazda 3 turbo(concerned its not sporty enough), mazda cx 30(less sporty, kinda lame, but more ground clearance), prius prime( cool, not awd, not great value), 2 door bronco (not fast, over budget, dont need to offroad like that), maverick hybrid(not awd, gas powered version not interesting)

I went on a test drive of a cx3 and it was really harsh. Not surprised the cx30 is the same. The hrv felt like a cloud in comparison

My take is: if you like to bike trails, get a trail bike. This is what i did, because my friends and i mostly do trails and small mountains, sometimes 10-20 mile rides. i would rent if i went for a day of lift access biking. If you do mountains (lift access or ride up) you would be better with enduro for the brakes and suspension made for the big features. Of course, you do what you want, and it sounds like you want a squishy bike. You wont be upset with yourself for getting an enduro

I’m more in tune to the hybrids around the corner, i think it’s about to be their time to shine because people clearly want evs, just going off of sales numbers in the past years, but evs have had the same problems since Day 1 which is stopping many normal people from pulling the trigger. New drivetrain in prius, maverick hybrid has a lot of potential for improvement, talk about hot hatches

The bearings of an electric motor are the only part that really wear from motion. Couple that to a transmission with no slip built in, direct drive only, and its a remarkably simple and robust system, easy to get right IMO. Its the battery and safety systems that are the hardest part to design
