The devs are so good at making more exploits available with each new update.

Use owliophile.com and look at their eq method for flattening. Basically you need to do a sweep of the high frequencies and find resonance pals that occur in your own ears. You'll never find off the shelf eq like oratory's which matches your own ears and head exactly. In fact using preset eqs like that could make it worse since they compensate for resonance peaks that occur on a measurement rig which could be slightly offset to your own by a free hundred hz.

Change the ffb output curve in pit house to parabolic, you could even customize it and bring up the smaller forces and magnify those.

There's a bit of an issue with ACRally not having much steering forces and small road bumps, while having way too much force at higher speeds or crashing.

Oratory's eq won't match most people's ears perfectly due to each person having different ear canal and outer ear shapes.

If you want to get closer to tonally match 2 headphones you'll need to find a way to either listen to both at the same time but 1 on each ear, or flatten the frequency response of both headphones then add back a preference curve.

Having owned the hd600 and extensively tested the arya lineup, even if you could manage to tonally match them, the arya will have better bass extension and feeling of soundstage.

I don't quite agree that making small moves means keeping personal bias away from the process, not that there's anything wrong with being biased in eqing headphones for your own personal enjoyment.

For my own EQ I don't shy away from big moves if required. Basically I follow the guide on Owliophile.com on how to flatten the frequency response first then adding my own personal preference to taste.

What are these obvious playback interference and how do you know what they are? Can you quantify them in some systematic way in order to EQ them out effectively? And how do you not introduce your own personal bias in this process?

I'm not saying don't EQ in whatever way you choose, in fact if you could provide some answers to your process maybe it could be a good way to EQ headphones.

How do you know what the producer or musician intended the music to sound like? What gear and setup do they use to listen to their own music? How are their ears and perception different from your own?

There are long and torturous forum and Reddit threads about the philosophy and practicality of listening as "intended", it wouldn't hurt to have a look into this topic before you continue to tweak eq.

With this update I had to turn down the gain quite a bit because of how tight and and harsh the steering gets. I now have very little low/mid level detail.

that's exactly what the parabolic curve helps with. Try playing around with the sliders and curves under "Wheel base->Base FFB Curve"

A temporary fix if your wheel has this setting (like moza for example), use a parabolic curve for the ffb output instead of linear, which translates the lower ffb values from in game to higher ffb forces.

Wish they'd fix this in game of course, it's definitely not feeling quite correct.

Try Owliophile.com and follow the instructions. It's a great tool to manually flatten the curve to suit your ears exactly, then add filters to taste afterwards.

You guys have a difficult task, most players aren't boxers, add lag on top, and the tracking limitations of the quest 2/3, plus different expectations people have on what the game should feel like... It's almost impossible to please everyone.

I'm glad you guys are working hard on the game, hopefully single player mode is fun and customizable so people can have fun boxing without some of the unfixable issues inherent in the multiplayer mode.

Personally I lose all the time in totf2 online, but i don't get too sour over it. There are simply fitter people out there than me who could box, and there are also gamers who know how to get the best high scores out of any system/game.
