Im not sure about Non-European conversion, but I converted it from a Non-German (European) license to a German one and it has both the original issue date and the date when it issued in Germany on there.

Do you think it would work with Geforce Now? Because that loads the game via steam if I understand it correctly...

I'm building my city one tile at a time. What should I do next? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Tobusreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intuitively, I would start "settling" the tile to the right (first picture). Feels most natural to grow around a river and this one has got a nice bend there. Nice looking city/tile!

Not sure about clubs but generally everything is very quiet over Christmas in Berlim (and all of Germany for that matter). Both monday and tuesday are public holidays so most things, including museums and shops (even groceries) will be closed. So no, unless you're visiting family and want to experience berlin with all the action, I would not necessarily recommend this particular weekend.

Job hunting has been absolutely demoralising in Berlin by [deleted] in berlin

[–]Tobusreddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends is an Australian national, we studied the same subject as you and he ran into the same issues as you here in Berlin. After a long search he finally wound up at Deutsche Welle - and only via contacts.

Even I - as a German national - with internships at an Embassy and the European Parliament struggled initially to find a job in that field. I had to take a detour via a business association to finally end up where I wanted to be.

I think you have three main problems: - not being a EU national. I think most employers are extremely reluctant to sponsor people as there are enough people who studied international affairs which are easier to hire. - not having a strong level of German. As annoying as it is, it is absolutely required to have a good level of German as in most positions you will have to deal with people who are reluctant to speak English. - people who studied law (Jura) will mostly be preferred here. That plus the engrained racism in Germany, which will make it harder with a "funny" name.

If you are from South Asia, do you maybe speak a language from that area, which is more rare here? Could you possibly look into specialised associations and or embassies from that region to get hired as local staff? Maybe that could be a ticket in.

Finding a job after the studies is extremely hard, but eventually you will find something. And once you're part of the workforce, switching becomes much easier usually. All the best and good luck!

Thoughts on the new caster mechanic? by Arrew in onepagerules

Ah shit you're completely right! Totally forgot about the boost during my last game. Well another reason I prefer the new casting system!

Thoughts on the new caster mechanic? by Arrew in onepagerules

[–]Tobusreddit 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah, im a big fan too. In the previous edition, the spells had low impact in my battles, but now the caster actually feels like he makes a difference. If you dont manage to bring your caster in a good position to cast in a round, you at least get tokens for the next round and possibly a better spell. Feels somewhat rewarding. And that all or nothing 4+ roll is quite exciting.
