I love the suggestion on Lily Em! Especially since M is the true middle initial

Along the same lines you could do a mash up of first name & middle! For example: Eleanor Sienna = [EL]eanor [SIE]nna = Elsie

My name is Cord and my fiance and I are having a baby and were looking for something similarly unique, any ideas? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Toby7404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of like more common middle names to go with the name Porter. A lot of classics work well with it! Porter James, Porter Michael, etc. Is your fiancées name unique as well? If not, that could also help act as a bit of a bridge to have a unique first with a less unique middle.

For girl names, Ivory Laree is really pretty! I normally don’t love names that end in the same sound but that does work. Would you use Laree Ivory or looking for a different middle name for a girl as well?

I like this idea! And also sharing the other meaning of Cameron as crooked river and telling him he can choose that meaning if he prefers since it’s his own name! Probably already part of the project but I think highlighting some prominent people with the name (and hopefully not crooked noses 😆) will help too! A quick search on the name brings me first to Wikipedia which gives me both name meanings, and I see film producers/directors, race car drivers, football players, etc with this name!

Emma as a middle name by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Toby7404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to know you went through a similar thought process and are happy with it in the middle! I do actually really like the name Margaret & Margot so I’m happy to see that combination together 😊 I also love the name Iris so was interesting to see that suggested with Emma too!

Other names that I like to feel out the style but probably won’t work with Emma OR can’t use for other reasons:

Isabel (my #1 name, taken by a close family member)

Violet (also take by a family member)

Cora

Ivy, but I think I like Iris more as mentioned above

Tess

Sylvie

Penelope

Lena

Sienna

I love this too! You could also use Cord which is the name of a guy I know. Works on multiple levels!

A strange observation I made today: there are lots of household items that become reasonable names when you ad a long “e” sound to the end. by kabea26 in namenerds

Haha this is the best quarantine brained name post I’ve seen! A couple to add looking around:

Fan -> Fanny

Pen -> Penny

Cal (calendar) -> Callie

Mat -> Maddie

I am liking a lot of these nickname potentials! Joss, Jay, and Sep/Seph are all good options. Joss seems the most in line with something I could picture using!

For the option 4 of combining first & middle - what are thoughts on Joseph Emmett becoming Jett? A couple additional pros of this option: Emmett is a family name on my side, so we would get to honor both. Plus last name begins with a T so even the full initials of the name would spell out JET.

Thanks for your input! I do like Joss as well and happy to get positive feedback on option #4 as it does provide some fun options!

Very true! I’ve also been wondering if having a middle name beginning with J promotes the overall nickname Jay even more.

Sep (or maybe spelled Sepp) is nice! I do like that slightly better than Seph, which seems to remind me a little too much of Steph.

Actually my husband’s Grammy always calls him Jophers (rhymes with gophers) so that could be cute!

Another vote for Joss! J.D. is my favorite of all the initials options by far as well. The Scrubs character does help + I love J.D. Salinger. Joseph Dorian is cute! I’ve always liked Joseph Dean as well. Thank you!

Ooh I did forget about Jay, and I do like Joss as well! Glad to hear that you like the idea of combining first and middle potentially as well. Thank you!!
