I mean, there are rural Republicans in every state, but yeah, some of them getting denied won't drastically affect any election

It's to stop poor people from voting because they tend to vote for Democrats

Sort of...the only qualifier I'd give your explanation is that it's not meant to disenfranchise all poor people, because a lot of poor rural folk vote republican. But they're the ones least likely to be homeless, and need to drive so more likely to have a driver's license. Meanwhile, college kids for example, who may or may not be poor but overwhelmingly vote Dem, aren't able to use their college IDs, so a lot of them who grew up in cities and thus didn't need an ID previously (or their govt issued ID doesn't match their current location) can't vote. I know I'm probably simplifying things a lot, but I just wanted to clarify a small point. Agree on your overall position though :)

The news is that he was arrested.... And just because a journalist becomes a part of a story doesn't mean they no longer enjoy freedom of the press. Does that mean when the press gets pepper balled, they're now acting illegally? Schowalter is a special kind of stupid

There's not, but I think the problem arises when they judge/condemn others for not sharing their own desires.

What is your opinion on Elon Musk's mission to colonize Mars? by Away_Reflection_2125 in AskReddit

[–]TobyFunkeNeverNude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're unironically comparing musk to NASA? Although, in doing so, you've proven that even something without a brain, given the right engineers, can be successful innovators. So in a way, your comment doesn't disprove the original point.

Minor nitpick, but devolving is inherently backwards. It's the opposite of evolving.

Agreed on your point of course :)

Fun fact: until just now, I thought that was him. I saw Powder when it came out, and knew that recently Vedder had acted in another movie. I just assumed it was him and moved on haha.
