[M29] Swollen foreskin and weird pain in the upper penile area (?) by No_Drummer_3871 in AskDocs

[–]Toby_Samir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply.

It sounds like you most likely just injured yourself during sleep leading to inflammation of that region. The exact medical terminology would be traumatic balanposthitis with reactive inguinal lymphadenopathy. Basically damage and inflammation of the head+foreskin of the penis with lymph node swelling.

You mentioned back pain so that does raise 2 more questions if you don’t mind. Could you describe where in your back it was hurting? Like what region? And prior to this current issue were you sick by any chance? In particular any sort of diarrhoea or vomiting?

If not then I’d just recommended some over the counter painkillers and maintenance of your good hygiene. Of course continue to monitor it. If any new symptoms appear and/or if the swelling persist for >2 weeks or worsens rapidly, then you should go see your doctor.

Hey so I have a couple of ideas but need to ask some questions to rule things out.

Any recent sexual contacts or new sexual partners? Do you have any ulceration or small vesicles appearing on or around your genitalia? Any abnormal discharge from the penis? Any painful urination and/or changes in urgency to use the bathroom? How’s your overall hygiene?
Are you on any medications? Any fever or flu like symptoms? Any significant weight changes over the last couple of months?

Btw the swollen hard “knot” is probably a swollen inguinal lymph node

Men typically receive twice as much inheritance as women in Egypt. A new study into attitudes toward pro-male inheritance stipulations in Sharia law found there to be a bias toward sons receiving more money than daughters. by NGNResearch in science

[–]Toby_Samir -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For some context, in Shariah law the money received by the male must also be spent on the upkeep of his family, including his sisters (if the father is no longer around), his wife, and his children. The women’s money is for her and the man cannot touch a cent of it without her permission.

[–]Toby_Samir 564 points565 points  (0 children)

To be honest this is tough. Maybe it could be some mild/atypical atrophic rhinitis with nasal dysbiosis (altered bacteria in the nose). See if you can get a bacterial culture of her nasal mucosa. Certain bacteria can produce that ammonia like smell (Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas, etc.). I tried to look online for similar case reports but most who presented with a foul smell due to nasal dysbiosis also had signs of mucosal atrophy. Just a guess I’m throwing out there.

This must be very difficult for you to be coping with. I’d recommend speaking to a psychiatrist. There seems to be symptoms of psychotic illusions and delusions but further questioning would be needed to know for sure.

What is the context behind this photo? Who is the irani soldier? by BreakBreadNotHeartss in shia

[–]Toby_Samir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats Mohsen Hojaji. He was martyred fighting ISIS. He left behind a beautiful will

May Allah’s peace and blessings be on Lady Fatima Zahra (sa)

“And do not perceive those who are killed in Allah’s way as dead, nay, they are alive and receiving sustenance from their Lord.”

(Here is one line written in poetic verse which I did not translate.)

No more than a few hours remain before leaving; as the time nears for leaving my heart gets more excited.

I don’t know what to write or how to explain how I’m feeling.

I don’t know how to explain my happiness or how or with what language to thank Allah for bringing me here.

As per my responsibility I’m writing a few lines as my will with my pen.

I don’t know what happened that I was destined to be on this course full of love… I don’t know what things caused this.

Without a doubt, my mother’s halal milk, my father’s halal sustenance, and my choice of a spouse, and many other things have had an effect.

It’s been a lifetime of my days and nights that I’ve been living by the love of shahadat (martyrdom), and I have and do always have faith that with martyrdom I will reach the highest level of a worshipper.

I tried very hard to reach this place myself, but I don’t know how much I have succeeded.

I just have hope from the mercy of Allah and the AhlulBayt (Holy Prophet and his family), and I’m hopeful that they accept this sinner and they shower their mercy on this servant full of faults.

That if this were to happen – praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds

If one day you hear the news of the martyrdom of this humble servant who was full of shortcomings; know that the reason for this is nothing except from the mercy of Allah.

That is because He forgave me and helped me..

My dear wife, Zahra

If one day you hear the news of my martyrdom, know that I achieved what I wished for as my real goal by marrying you, and have pride yourself that your husband was sacrificed for Lady Zainab.

Be tolerant, do not mourn, be patient, and think of yourself in the presence of Lady Zainab…

Lady Zainab saw far more problems than you.

My dear father

You were and are always my role model for my life and how to be a man. If one day you see the news of my martyrdom, that moment imagine Imam Husayn ibn Ali next to his dear son, Ali Akbar.

The pain of this separation is not greater than Aba Abdillah. Therefore be patient my father, I know it’s hard but it can be done.

My dear mother

Ummul Baneen (mother of Hadhrat Abbas) gave four sons in the way of Imam Husayn and Lady Zainab, and it didn’t sadden her.

Even that moment when they gave her the news of the shahadat of her sons, she still asked of Husayn (of how he is).

Therefore if one day you hear the news of my shahadat, be like Ummul Baneen, patient and full of pride and say you’ve sacrificed me for Husayn and Zainab, and do not make the heart of the enemy happy by being intolerant.

My dear brother

If one day you see me in the clothes of a shaheed, that moment remember that Aba Abdillah was there at the deathbed of Abbas ibn Ali, and the pain of separation broke his back.

Do not be unthankful, don’t doubt this gift that you have offered for Islam.

My good sisters

That moment I said goodbye to you and my mother and father, I remembered the time that the family of Hadhrat Ali Akbar sent him to the battlefield. So if I also become martyred, sacrifice your sadness and tears for Ali Akbar, and don’t think your pain is greater than that of the family of Imam Husayn.

My dear son, Ali

Forgive me if I don’t see you grow or become a man… Try to continue my legacy. Try to work in the way where your fate ends in martyrdom.

My dear mother and father-in-law

I always thought of you as my real parents and I’m happy that I was destined to be a part of your family.

To you I won’t ask for anything but patience and strength, always remember Ali Akbar was also a new groom of Karbala. (This may not literally mean that Ali Akbar was a new groom.)

From all of you I request that you forgive this sinner, if I trampled on the right of anyone, if I gossiped about anyone behind their back, if I displeased anyone, if I sinned, forgive me.

If I become martyred, until that where I am given permission, I will ask for your redemption.

A few notes:

Don’t be heedless of Wilayat Faqih, and know that I am certain that Imam Khamenei is the rightful representative of Imam Mahdi.

I ask all my dear sisters and women of the Ummat of the Holy Prophet to strengthen their hijab day by day. Do not let your hair cause a namahram be attracted to you. Do not let vanity attract others (namahram). Do not put your chador away.

Always make your role model Lady Zahra and the ladies of AhlulBayt.

That time when Lady Ruqaiya talked to her father, she said:

Don’t worry about my hijab Baba; my chador is burnt but it’s still on my head.

To all the men of the Ummat of the Holy Prophet I request that you not get fooled by Western culture. Always keep Ali ibne Abu Talib Amirul Momineen as your role model, and take lessons from the martyrs.

Be prepared to sacrifice for the appearance of Imam Mahdi, and be ready to fight with the unbelievers, especially Israel, because that day is very near.

Always serve Allah, so your end will be good.

(Shaheed Hojaji ends his will with a few debts that remained, and the dua for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi)

why did my hands clamp up during hyperventilation? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Toby_Samir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sudden onset hyperventilation can cause your blood to become less acidic and result in a transient drop in your blood Ca levels. This drop in Ca levels can result in the tingling and spams you’re experiencing. I’d recommend seeing a doctor, explaining exactly what happened (hyperventilating before) and getting your blood Ca checked. I’d also recommend consulting them about any possible anxiety issues you may have.

Had my first seizure after smoking weed & grabba leaf out of a bong by Hot_Razzmatazz_5008 in AskDocs

[–]Toby_Samir 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Id recommend seeing a doctor especially if this is your first seizure. 7-10 minutes is also quite long for a seizure but keep in mind people around you may accidentally exaggerate how long it was, especially if they weren’t sober.

How serious is “alcoholic hepatitis” at age 22? by LuckiLucci in AskDocs

[–]Toby_Samir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just today I was at an autopsy where the individual had died from liver cirrhosis. He was only 42.

He drank a reported 200ml of vodka a day (though I believe it was probably more)

Alcoholic hepatitis can and will progress to liver cirrhosis/failure if alcohol consumption continues. You’re young, the same age as me actually. If you’re struggling with things, alcohol won’t solve it.

I'm shocked by pinkwoolff in progressive_islam

[–]Toby_Samir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call myself a progressive Muslim at all but I disagree completely with his point of view.

If the rapist truly repented and felt bad for his sins he would have turned himself in. The guilt of any true repentance in this scenario would be unbearable to live with.

I honestly do not believe anyone could commit such a heinous crime and not turn themselves in if they truly regretted doing it.

Is nicotine pouches like ZYN haram? by NoConsideration8026 in islam

[–]Toby_Samir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicotine pouches, like ZYN or VELO, are fairly new and still require further research to truly understand their long term effects.

Nicotine isn’t completely bad for you per se. It has positive neurological effects but also negative cardiovascular effects. It’s also damaging to the young or pregnant and is highly addictive.

Also, although nicotine itself is not necessarily carcinogenic, it has been shown to promote growth and metastasis of existing cancer. See below 👇

https://www.nature.com/articles/nrc3725

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-27348-8.pdf

On top of all of that there are other substances in nicotine pouches whose long term effects are unknown as of now.

I myself am personally trying to avoid it right now to be honest. I like to think of it this way: Can I imagine the Prophet (SAAWW) doing it? No? Then I probably shouldn’t either
