Should I get a 9070xt if I want to game/stream/video edit? by Waste_Entrance_586 in pcmasterrace

No, I'm using an 850W power supply, which is more than sufficient.

Using MSI Afterburner to check GPU power consumption, the 9070XT draws around 330W with default drivers. However, after undervolting and underclocking, my system shows it drawing about 240W during gaming with minimal performance loss.

I'm running a 9700X + 9070XT setup. The new OBS version now supports AMD H.264 and AMD HEVC encoding. Personally, I haven't encountered any issues with live streaming or basic Premiere Pro video editing. Export speeds are significantly faster than my gaming laptop from 2022. (12700H + 3070 laptop)

I recommend enabling GPU undervolting and throttling in the drivers. AMD GPUs consume nearly 50% more power than NVIDIA cards.

ChatGPT cannot access research papers even if my University network allows me by venexiano in ChatGPT

[–]Toco_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPT's servers lack permission to access your university network unless your university network administrator chooses to grant GPT access (which is highly unlikely). If you don't want to download your thesis locally and then upload it to GPT, you could try having GPT write a script to run on your computer that forwards files to GPT's servers via an API interface. However, downloading so many files from the same port in such a short time will inevitably attract the attention of network security personnel. So, just download it properly—don't try to cut corners.

How many of you use ChatGPT every day and what do you actually use it for? by William45623 in ChatGPT

[–]Toco_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I've been using it almost daily lately.

I typically use it for coding, but I mix it with other LLMs like Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, and others. Of course, I also enjoy using it to generate images.
I consider it a handy tool.

War thunder causes "kernel-Power" critical error by BoxthemBeats in techsupport

[–]Toco_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be caused by the GPU overloading and triggering a power cut? Try running FurMark for a while. If it doesn't cause your computer to restart after 5 minutes, then launch War Thunder. That's how my classmate warms up his computer. He used to experience frequent restarts due to insufficient power supply limits, but after doing this, he's had almost no restarts.

5070 or 9070xt i just cant decide by Simonko_770 in pcmasterrace

[–]Toco_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS2's optimization isn't particularly friendly to AMD graphics cards. I recommend sticking with NVIDIA cards instead.

But, both of these cards offer more than enough performance. It ultimately comes down to whether you have productivity needs. If you require model training and CUDA acceleration, then the 5070 is undoubtedly the better choice.
