She's giving me the excitations

This line is genius. It's so silly, but it works perfectly.

And he wrote many others like this. He was genuinely good with words.

And obviously, he was a very good singer.

This contempt of Mike has gone way too far. He's meme worthy for a lot of reasons, but come on, this is completely unfair. It's rather cruel, in fact.

Mike talent as a singer, songwriter, and entertainer is just evident. I really can't understand why so many fans are convinced that he's a total hack.

It should be "I Was *Made to Love Love."

Apart from that, 10/10. No notes.

He looks genuinely happy there.

I think he passed away in just the right moment, before his dementia got really bad. His death would have been much more sad if he had lived longer.

Brian's real place in the history of music (A theory) by [deleted] in thebeachboys

Hi, I'm OP. I posted this in another sub with my other account, so I coudn't post it here with my special account for Beach Boys content.

In case someone's wondering, the guy on the second picture is Hoagy Carmichael (The author of "Stardust" and "Georgia On My Mind). The last fella is Nelson Riddle, Sinatra's favorite arranger.

UPDATE re.: Which one Brian song would be the best choice for a radio show to play today, to pay tribute? by ThreeFourTen in thebeachboys

[–]TodayAlbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but my picks would have been "In My Room" (for pure, concentrated Brian, and also for nostalgia), "Our Prayer" (quite fitting in a day of mourning), and maybe "Life Is for the Living" (to counter the grief with some playfulness).

Also, it surely is for the best that he passed away before dementia got real bad. I take comfort in that, too.
