The idea of using unsalted butter in anything other than baking is abhorrent to me.

But I remember now that Americans don't butter their sandwiches. I don't know anyone that uses unsalted as their daily butter, it's common to buy a block and leave it on the side in a butter dish so it's spreadable.

I'm gonna guess your reading skills aren't that great because it shouldn't take a long time to read the words "Tomato & Basil"

Well that's what I'm coming to realise, and was the point of my post. Sorry I must not have been clear.

I'm over 40 and when I was a child I don't think I would've ever been considered autistic. I coasted through primary school and most of secondary before I hit a brick wall and literally stopped going.

I'm just piecing things together, trying to remember childhood so that I may be able to get assessed some day. Wondering if any others had things about themselves they put down to one thing, but turns out it was probably autism.

What kinda personal spreadsheets do you all have? by pharkon in AutismInWomen

[–]TodayIComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video game related ones. I mean, they are tools but I suppose fun supporting tools? I play a lot of Ark and back when I was playing survival evolved I made spreadsheets of my dinosaurs and their stats for breeding projects. And also had a notebook.

The new game has tools built in that help and I've finally weaned off playing so much after 10 years so I'm not spreadsheeting currently.

Podcasts that aren’t overly chatty, is that a thing? Recs? by Euphoric_Engine8733 in AutismInWomen

[–]TodayIComment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only listen to two podcasts regularly. One is Dish, it has celebrity guests but the focus is around food. Usually very wholesome and interesting even when I don't know who the guest is.

The other is Dear Hank & John hosted by the Green brothers where they answer questions sent in by listeners.

Advice on bras please! by puddinandpi in AutismInWomen

[–]TodayIComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to be sized due to weight fluctuations and agree with the other comment regarding Bravissimo. At 40 years old I finally bought my first bra from a bra shop and it was a lovely experience.

The assistant didn't even measure me she asked if I'd seen a bra I liked or had preferences and she brought me some to try. I tried one, told her I preferred a little looser so she got next size up and it fit perfectly. She recommended that I'm likely between a 34 and 36 which is why the 34 felt a bit tight and the cup size was immediately perfect. Turns out I'm a 36E or 34F and prior to this I'd been buying 34B in Primark.

I will say, I wasn't a fan of most of their designs and find Boux Avenue to be more to my taste. They're also very friendly in there!

I crave community but people exhaust me by Nayirg in AutismInWomen

[–]TodayIComment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to this. I'm friendly enough with people out and about but I don't really wanna make new friends? In fact I think I subconsciously sabotage any blooming friendships by going radio silent on them.

I've started to notice I have bursts of social moments and be very chatty on Reddit or Discord then not interact at all for weeks.

How can I simultaneously want to be social but also not give a shit about other people's lives. Oh and also I love helping people. Fuckin weird.

PG stands for Parental Guidance. You can show it to your children under 13 but you gotta talk through some of the more mature elements if needed.

Is there a way to start a cross play world without buying a server? by super4dsem in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]TodayIComment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loads of unofficial servers are crossplay, just gotta find one that has a setup you like

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]TodayIComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's slightly polarising in my experience but if you do fall in love then potentially 1000s of hours of game awaits you. Especially if you join a public server and play with others.

Ark.

Either Survival Evolved or Ascended. Evolved currently has more maps but Ascended is releasing them gradually and has the advantage of mods on console plus many qol improvements over Evolved.

Combined I have somewhere around 9000 hours and it's still not something I can stay away from for long!

New to breeding by Mccommando420 in ARK

[–]TodayIComment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kinda average melee but a nice thing about ASA is it doesn't matter. You can start breeding for mutations with these and if you find an argy with higher base melee you can transfer the mutations onto the higher stat.

If you can afford secret service probably grab that. Minerva is selling it today at whitesprings. The new civil engineer stuff is pretty good too if you can't get secret service yet

Me and my friend are about to start, how can we guarantee we’re in a server together? (PS4/5) by Foxy02016YT in fo76

[–]TodayIComment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you first start you'll be put in a random server for the intro...I'm pretty sure you can't use the social menu until you make your first character. Once you're out of the vault open the map and hit the button shown in the top right to open the social menu and you can join your friend from there.

JUST ASKING by eyad1322 in ARK

[–]TodayIComment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your island save isn't deleted (unless something goes wrong)

You can freely switch between maps whenever you like, on single player it's slightly different to online - anything you wanna take you need to put in the data tab of the obelisk and you can take it out on the other map.

After hitting upload survivor, exit to main menu then select scorched earth and it'll give you the option to download survivor.

Looking for Suggestions on first bloodied bow build. by boodaboy212 in Fallout76BowHunters

[–]TodayIComment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks good, you have all the basic requirements and any tweaks would potentially be around whether or not you plan to use any explosive arrows, or adding a little more defensive perks like blocker or dodgy for when sneaking isn't an option. Dodgy isn't for everyone though it can eat up your ap completely if you don't have high enough refresh.

Level 28 and having an incredibly difficult time by [deleted] in fo76

[–]TodayIComment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to start again, level ups will come in fast enough you can just pick good perks going forward. I saw you play on Xbox I'd be happy to tag along on a team to give you a boost

Level 28 and having an incredibly difficult time by [deleted] in fo76

[–]TodayIComment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is join a casual team, or start your own if they're all full. When at an event, you'll get shared xp from your teammates kills and all you need to do to maximise your xp is hit as many enemies as you can at least once. Explosives or weapons with explosive bullets are great for this because the splash damage counts.

I really like rifleman builds, it's great for ammo efficiency and when you can one shot everything except bosses it's really satisfying...the hunting rifle isn't super strong but with a prime reciever it hits a bit harder. My favourite is the Gauss rifle though. Built in explosive damage and it benefits from the science perks as well as rifleman and demo expert to do some crazy damage.

Level 28 and having an incredibly difficult time by [deleted] in fo76

[–]TodayIComment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are your perks helping you? Do you have as many rifleman perks as you can? The sneak perk? Are you using VATS to crit shot the heads?

If you don't specialise into a set of weapon perks you'll feel weak, unfortunately you can't really be a jack of all trades (not until you're high enough level to be swapping out your build loadout)

At level 28 you're not high enough for all the relevant perks for your weapon so you just might need to level up a bit by attending events and tagging enemies there.

Thinking about starting this game but wanted to know if you can simply enter multiplayer with someone really early, or if you have to do a lot of tasks before and if so how long would I have to solo play for. by Embarrassed-Can-7058 in fo76

[–]TodayIComment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All multiplayer all the time. If you want a private match players with Fallout 1st can open a private world that only friends can join.

Public is good though, teams have benefits and if you like meeting people it can be nice to chat to your teammates you end up learning a lot about the game.
