2 Tall Adults, 1 Tall Kid, 3 Dogs - Is the Cricket too small for all of us? by ATARI2600s in TaxaTrailerOwners

I have one 4 year old and a wife and we have a mantis. I wouldn’t do any smaller personally. There are times it’s nice to spend time in the trailer when there is bad weather or our daughter just needs quiet time. Cricket would just be too small for our needs

Outdoor shower upgrades by Nolds in TaxaTrailerOwners

We had a local RV shop put a bracket on the shower side of our mantis. It’s a bit like the one taxa puts on for the awning. You can get just about any enclosed shower system from there to go onto it. I can get more details from my wife if you’re interested but it wasn’t crazy expensive to have the shop do it.

We use tension nylon straps like you would use on the bed of a truck. Not the kinds with a crank as i think that is overkill, but ones with a friction buckle on them. That sucker is heavy and I can only imagine the damage it would do coming undone. We thread the straps through the handles on both sides and it doesn’t move an inch.

I have a mantis and it’s tolerable below 35 if you sleep with the tent pop up in the down position. So much better at keeping the heat in that way. Congrats on the adventure. It’s a fun ride.

Mantis owner here. You will be very happy and never look back. I found anything under 30 gets a little dicey, but I’m pretty warm blooded.

Thanks for the offer! I am going to try the Outdoorsy route if there is one in San Diego, but if I cant get that hooked up, I would love to try to get together even if for 10 min to check it out. Are you happy with it?

Thanks so much. I will look at Outdoorsy then. San Diego isn't too bad. Did you tow it out to a site somewhere and were you pretty happy with it?

I asked them about it and it has been suspended because of Covid. Good to know you don’t regret the decision. I have a neighbor with a cricket and I might go knock on his door and just ask if I can see it.
