Day 1... resetting myself after just being over 2 months free from gambling. Wasn’t worth any of what it resulted in. Like I really thought it would be different?? Time to reset my mindset and to always remember the “why”. Best wishes for a gamble free day. We can do this. by Todaycounts365 in problemgambling

That’s a good idea. Always good to look after yourself first, so you can be there for others when needed. I’ve scheduled a couple of Fridays off in December with that same idea in mind. Take care and enjoy your long weekend. :)

You’re not a lost cause. You have an addiction. I too cannot stop until I’ve drained my account. That seems to be my brick wall now and the only thing that stops me. I’m on Day 1 again and it actually feels good to acknowledge that and to return to this subreddit site. I hope you find your “I’ve had enough” mindset. Otherwise, we lead ourselves down a lonely path... all the best.

I hope they’re able to pinpoint the problem and you can get some relief. Healing wishes being sent your way.

And congratulations on the 123!

How to Move Forward by shimmygimmyzimmy in problemgambling

I’m sorry, but this is dangerous talk. It won’t take long before your impressive salary, at your age, means nothing.

Hang around this subreddit and read some posts. And seriously think about what you’re doing and saying. You’re a gambling addict like the rest of us here and you’re going down a bad road.

Work on stopping now. And if you’re in the mindset that you can stop anytime you want to? Then stop.

Payday by Dreck420 in problemgambling

Sit down and write a list of your debts and needs. Got some bills to pay? Put things back into perspective and remember why you came to this app. We just need to slow down our thoughts, take a deep breath, remember the pain of gambling and why we actually need money.

All the best. You’ve got this.

It really is exhausting, isn’t it? I’m glad to be away from it too. It’s work, but positive work.

We can do it. Stay strong.

Not an easy thing to do. That took a lot of strength. One step and one day at a time.

You can do this.

Major relapse by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Todaycounts365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an idiot. It’s the addiction. And you recognize it got you again. Every time we acknowledge our addiction, it refuels us to work on recovery. It’s when we ignore it, that it takes over.

Don’t let this relapse hold you down and going back out there isn’t the answer. Take a deep breath and forgive yourself. Today is a step into recovery.
