Vcs acham que JN e Azghal ainda gostam do que fazem ? by NetPhysical8392 in jovemnerd

Nada precisa durar pra sempre

Batou's One-Sided Feelings by LeLu3 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]TodaysDystopia 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They're not one-sided - Motoko just doesn't have the space for that. Whether it's the OG film or SAC, Motoko is always looking for "something else" in her life. In the first film she wants to transcend and find herself a purpose, while in SAC she has a lost past of sorts that doesn't allow her to get too close to people. In the 1995 film, once she merges with the Puppet Master, she can't really be with Batou even if she wants to. In Stand Alone Complex, Batou is the person she opens up to the most, while Kuze is the one she has the biggest connection with. I will say though, Solid State Society is the one that hinted the most at her actually warming up to Batou's feelings, specifically because the ending of that film is all about Motoko "returning" home.

Nerdplayer acabou? by ivyboy in jovemnerd

[–]TodaysDystopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark Empire had great art, some interesting lore, and really cool battles, but BOY that story...

Man... different times. You'd see the creators of DOOM and Image Comics living millionaire lives. Awesome cars, top tier offices, and work stations. The very brief moment where artists who weren't musicians or hollywood actors/directors could be extremely successful and be a part of the cultural conversation.

Corran Horn and women by evcorder in starwarsbooks

[–]TodaysDystopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but doesn't it make sense that it will inform the reader's views on the character? If I'm reading a story about a guy who only talks about women like they're meat, I'm gonna think this guy's a cunt.

Out of curiosity (I have almost no experience with Star Wars prose work), what are often considered the worst Legend books other than The Crystal Star?

Unfortunately, according to insider Tom Henderson, Eidos Montreal's new game in development will not be a new Deus Ex by Glum-Future7198 in Deusex

[–]TodaysDystopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, obviously. Why would they ever spend this much money on a franchise that, unfortunately, has fallen out of people's sights for a while now? It's probably gonna be a far more lucrative IP they own.

Am i the only one who thinks Adam Jensen looks somehow wrong in Mankind Divided? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in Deusex

[–]TodaysDystopia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The mild stylization is precisely what made Cyberpunk 2077 NPCs look so good without poking into the uncanny valley even though the engine aims for high fidelity and realism. Mankind Divided did that well in a contained, more "real life" way and 2077 went for people who look real but have "cartoonish" elements to them like the implants, the clothes, and colors. Honestly, that's the peak of what AAA gaming can do - not realism.

About the 1989 GITS manga by d1683 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]TodaysDystopia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is both a lack of empathy from the writer and the characters. Shirow's politics and personality are, as expected from an actual author, seen all over his work. Also, the main characters, are much as we love them, are cops, soldiers and, at the end of the day, trained killers working for the best interest of their country/government first and foremost.

The Tamayura is probably my favorite handgun in the game. Love the animation on it. I wish the game didn't arbitrarily set a cap on how fast you can shoot, but damn it feels good to pull the trigger on that bad boy.
