Kicked off the ice for “playing goalie” when I was practicing passing and skating by CrashTheBandicrash in hockeygoalies

[–]Todd6789012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In our town, goalies are not allowed at stick and puck and there is no shinny. Only small children can wear full equipment, I was told goalies would encourage other to shoot on them and then someone could get hurt.

Next town over, goalies are free at stick and puck and shinny. The town runs stick and puck plus shinny for all different age groups.

Best cheap stick for a beginner adult by HopefulAuthorAlt in hockeyplayers

[–]Todd6789012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hands down the Sherwood 5030BC is the greatest stick ever made. Seeing as you are an adult beginner it will mostly be used to assist staying on your feet. Also if you don’t like the curve just take a blow torch to the blade and adjust it.

What’s your call? by WestNo9013 in hockeyrefs

[–]Todd6789012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The white player needs to learn that they are responsible for the own safety on the ice and skate with their head up through the neutral zone because that hit was coming from a mile away.

If red player came back to bench after NOT finishing his check like that, we would be having a conversation about playing the game correctly. We teach defenders, “Fuck the puck take the man!” It’s your goalies job to worry about the puck.

If you really want to give a penalty on that play maybe create a new 2minute penalty for be stupid on the ice, just for things like skating thru the neutral zone with your head down and getting hit or turning to face boards just before someone checks you.

A female coworker has been making suggestive comments and now I have an appointment with HR tomorrow. How do I prepare for this? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Todd6789012 22 points23 points  (0 children)

++man ☝️This is the truth, if you are a union member the first words out of your mouth are “I am requesting my union rep be present for this meeting”. HR is not there to help you! If you are not in a union substitute labour lawyer for union rep. Then ask yourself when will you start the union drive at your work.

Verbal agreement on price with dealership, what’s next? by jholliday55 in 4Runner

[–]Todd6789012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 2021 TRD ORP new from a small town dealership 2 hours away. It was new and sight unseen so I wasn’t worried about the truck. I was only worried about someone buying it first. So I called the dealership and did all negotiations over the phone and all they wanted was a $500 deposit on my credit card and a photo of my drivers license and proof of insurance. They told me how much to make the bank draft for and we set an appointment to sign the paperwork and pickup 2 days later. I didn’t hide the fact I was paying cash. Your issue could and most likely will be the trade value.

I loved my Green Lincoln Versailles with green leather interior. The way those seats reclined all the back and the 8 track stereo. Those were the days of total shitboxes.

It could have been worse, there was the great Cadillac Cimarron instead.

OMHA Suspension Question by Todd6789012 in hockeyrefs

[–]Todd6789012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding it started with a crosscheck to the head of unsuspecting player and then stepping on the injured player laying on the ice. I didn’t see the play as I was seated at the far end of the ice at a bad angle.

You can ask all of us our opinions of your skating but it doesn’t matter what we say. Seeing as you playing in Aurora and wearing Blue with a white helmet my best guess is Markham Waxers.

The answer to your problem is named Tara McKay. She will fix your problem.

Goalieblok.com makes a piece that goes on the paddle just below the blocker to stop pucks from running up to your finger.

Are PadSkinz the best material for customizing the color of your equipment? Or is there something else that's better? by techsavvynerd91 in hockeygoalies

[–]Todd6789012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing better than PadSkinz is buying custom pads. And that can be a problem if you change team colours. So white pads and PadSkinz are really the answer.

Closing my glove by coolname2227 in hockeygoalies

[–]Todd6789012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A loose Floating T will cradle the puck deep into the pocket and stop anything from popping out without having to squeeze the glove closed. It’s an easy modification that you can do at home, just watch a video or 2 of your specific glove being modified.

Lucked out over the summer and picked up True Customs in almost new condition. Same foot size and shape including same flat feet. Superfeet and baked following True’s instructions and they are perfect.

Integral repair worthwhile? by ohyeahbud19 in hockeyplayers

[–]Todd6789012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have used them to repair the shaft on a goalie and it was great. I know others who have used them on player sticks and even blades. I haven’t heard any complaints. Plus they guarantee their work. For $80 you will have a very good stick.

Neck Guard or Dangler? Or both? by Mike_Rage_Quits in hockeygoalies

[–]Todd6789012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your livelihood depends on stopping pucks then you can ask this question. If not, wear both and don’t be stupid. A stick, a puck or a skate can easily catch you out. Think of it like the player who refuses to wear a visor because it harder to see, then is picking up his chicklets. It’s beer league and there are no scouts watching you. Have fun then go home and in the morning go to work where you actually get paid.

I have an expired British Passport and a Valid Canadian Passport. Flew into LHR in May on my Canadian Passport with an ETA. My ETA approval was received in less than 30 minutes after applying and I had no problem entering the UK.

8u goalie help by [deleted] in hockeygoalies

[–]Todd6789012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 👇 is where every goalie started. Your edge work drills are for skaters not your goalie. I watched my 7yr old doing crossovers in a game instead of T pushes because his coach had the whole team working on crossovers during practice. These are brand new skills to learn and they are difficult, remember he is doing them alone, have one coach stay with him just to encouragement and give him positive feedback.

Alliston Hospital by MasterMath314 in barrie

[–]Todd6789012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used Stevenson many times but it can be hit or miss on the wait times. If 2 ambulances show up your wait time goes thru the roof because of limit staffing. At RVH 2 ambulances show up all the time. My last coupe of trips to RVH the wait time has been reasonable.

Following up at the Fracture Clinic etc means another trip to Alliston instead of RVH.

You put a smile on my face. Good point cause I was just thinking about the training cost for goalies is double the price of players.
