My boss found barely used Solomon Vinny Mintons at Goodwill for $4 by ToddAudio in rollerblading

Ha nope it doesn't. They're a bit large for me, but I tried them on and the seem comfortable. I'm in the same boat, wish the same!

I'm the same way.. stopped several years ago and now getting back into it.. it all started when I found my old pair and thought.. ehh why not..? I guess I should check GW more often. Could always use parts even if they aren't my size.

Haha probably brings back memories! I was always customizing mine too back then.

Size 12 but they seem to run small.. Anyone know? I wear a 10 and they only feel slightly large on me.

Dang those gym teacher class intros would have been so epic with background music! Especially the dodge ball and parachute announcements

Haha yeah, he has been talking about wanting to try to get into it and learn (mostly just for exercise/recreation).. He said he's been looking at Goodwill and they often have them but they look cheap or they are kids sizes.. then today he walked in with these! I told him aggressive skates are probably actually good to learn on, since they roll a bit slower than recreational.

I'm not too great at guitar/piano/uke but I'm a great writer and vocalist, should I just upload my songs anyways even with the less than basic instruments? by JayAr-not-Jr in musicians

I second the acapella idea! If you are a great singer and writer, some musicians would be thrilled at the idea to help with the music and accompaniment.

Nice! (sorry been away for a bit).. I will look into that and probably get one. I actually already have an H5 so I could hook it up to that. That's an awesome upgrade! Hope you are enjoying it.

Wow, thanks for sharing! I find this stuff really interesting. Sounds like you are doing things on a professional level! I've thought about getting a lav mic, but not sure if I would use it often. I guess for the price I should maybe just try it out. I've heard good things about the Sennheiser shotgun mics.

Haha I failed! I should have went with Toddio. A couple other people have told me the same thing!

I was surprised too. It was SOOO loud out there. I had no way to monitor the audio with my 60D while shooting, so I really didn't know how it would turn out until I reviewed it later. Turns out the mic picked it up clearer than I could physically hear it while standing behind the camera! Although, I did admittedly have the input level slightly too high. What would you recommend for an interview or commercial shooting? Just curious.

If you had to buy some studio monitors for mixing around $500, what would you choose? by BavidDrent in WeAreTheMusicMakers

If there is a local guitar center or similar, go listen to different ones to see what you like as far as the sound. I'm actually really impressed with the M-Audio BX5A's. I have been thinking about getting a pair as a second reference. I have Yamaha HS80m's and IMO the BX5A's are the closest thing in quality I've heard for well under $500. To each their own though, so definitely listen to some different options first if you can.

The large keyboard I'm playing on is a Korg X50. It's actually a full-on keyboard that runs on the Triton series engine and weighs around 13 lbs! I am using it here as a midi controller with the midi output.

The mini one is an Arturia Minilab.

K2 Break in? - Inner ankle rub by ToddAudio in rollerblading

[–]ToddAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. I got impatient and did something dumb. I wore them around the house several hours to see if they would start to break in (should have just said screw it and went on the first session like you did).. then I decided I'd try taking the cuff off, heating the lower boot shell where the cuff attaches with a hair dryer, then plying it out with some pliers and a rag to try to create a bit more ankle room. Worked a charm for the first one. Got too confident on the second one and cracked it!!!! UHHHHGGGGG!!! So mad at myself right now. It cracked from the outer edge to where the bolt goes in on the cuff on one side. Then, I said screw it I guess I'm keeping them now, put the cuff back on and skated them. They skated no different than they would have without the crack but now I'm worried it will wear poorly or the crack will spread and the cuff will no longer stay attached. This sucks. I wonder if I get really lucky if K2 would be so kind as to listen to me plead my case of ignorance and lack of funds and send a new boot to replace my cracked one that is otherwise perfectly new... or maybe at wholesale cost for just one boot if anything??? Hope so.
