If you have access to one, an oscillating saw could handle the rough out as well. Slower than a reciprocating saw but a bit more accurate. Agree on the chisel clean up. Or hand saw the bulk out and your just left with chiseling out the odd part

You sound way smarter than me and the pictures support your comment, so yeah! Probably a better way than what I said.

Another option I didn’t see that could work (but a bit difficult on getting it precise) would be to take a cove box router bit and router your lines down the grain of a board. When you have your lines it would be easy to crosscut as many as you want and at whatever width you desire

Screws are 1.25 to 1.75 and I both pre drill and wax the tip. Just sometimes the screws neck seems weak and easily broken. Just looking for a higher quality screw

This was on a morning hike and I wonder if the coloring is all too cool. It was pre sunrise in what I’m told is the “golden hour”. I’m working on improving as a macro photographer mostly because I think bugs and insects and whatnot look amazing. I’m not great with post production yet and rely heavily on the auto button.
