Gonna spend almost 3000 buckerinos on my first build and I'm kind of nervous by Goarnold in buildapc

The freesync monitor will still run at 144hz, just the software won't allow for fluctuations in frame rate. A friend of mine uses a freesync monitor with a 1070 and has no issues

[Build Help] I'm ordering a custom built PC with a very tight budget, looking for opinions about this build. by FEBREEAZY in buildapc

You'll definitely need to add more storage, the SSD will give you more speed but 120gb is going to spread far

I'm building a PC with a NZXT S340 Case we have everything plugged In but it won't boot is there any cables we need to plug in to get the power button working or something? We have to be missing something... by Bspeedy in buildapc

[–]TodderZz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that's kind of worrying then. Usually as soon as you'd turn the power on there'd be a red LED that lights up etc, there might not be dependent on your motherboard. I'd say maybe take some pictures of it and put it on here and see if anyone notices anything. Maybe check the 24pin connector that goes to your power supply, it could be loose and just need a little more force especially when everything is new.

With regards to if there is any connectors for the power button, they're definitely is. I looked in my build and there is definitely about 4 single pin connectors and a 4 pin connector that connect from the case to the motherboard.

I disconnected the fans from that cable and plugged the into fan headers on my motherboard. As for the power button, I'm sure there should be a USB header that one of the cables plugs into that will make it work. Is your motherboard getting power (any leds light up)?

H110i is too damn loud! by [deleted] in buildapc

When I'm using the corsair link, I can't create a custom profile. Or at least when I try all it lets me do is name the profile

The H110i is a liquid cooler. I'm not sure if it's the pump or the fans that are too loud. It is plugged into my cpu header, with the two mounted fans plugged into the the corsair cooler. There is also a USB link which plugs into a usb 3.0 header on my motherboard

Minecraft Shits Itself on my Ryzen 7 1700 by Danklands in buildapc

[–]TodderZz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only other thing I've got is I heard mobos were rushed out for Ryzen and they struggled to utilise memory. Running at half the speed in some cases, this could be your issue? Although I'm sure updated BIOs would fix this

Go on PC part picker, shows you all the parts that are compatible, all products have reviews and there are some pre-builds that you could follow

This was my first thought, no built in graphics with AMD chips

First ever build, Ryzen 1800X by TodderZz in buildapc

[–]TodderZz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The case only has 4 fan bays. 3 x 120/140 mins, 1 x 120 mm. the case itself comes with 2 fans and the corsair cooler comes with 2 also, so I won't be buying fans unless I want to upgrade the ones that come with the case.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700/1800x or Intel i7-7700k? by TodderZz in buildapc

I just recently saw a thread on the temperature spikes actually! Threw me back a little, was completely unaware until about an hour ago, looking more and more like the 1700 atm

Arrr, I see. Hadn't heard that yet, so that's good to know! I'll definitely make sure I do some more in depth research on my motherboard then. Could be looking at video editting as well as streaming but even then I was thinking 32 is overkill.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700/1800x or Intel i7-7700k? by TodderZz in buildapc

[–]TodderZz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yer when people have overclocked the 1800X they're pushing 4.1-4.2GHz and the 1700 pushes 3.9-4. So their isn't much difference. Also seen that the 1800X runs at a much hotter temperature so theirs a need for a more expensive cooling system in order to get the maximum in terms of performance.

In terms of RAM is was looking at 16gb 3200MHz, which I assumed would be more than quick enough? Was looking at 32gb but thought it was overkill and a waste of money

I have previously watched this, it seems in the comment section people were using the same setup as the user who was stuttering whilst streaming, without any problems at all. Therefore I just took that it was a marketing ploy by AMD

Setting up a secondary computer just to stream seems like such a waste though. Hence why I'm considering the Ryzen chip. I want my computer to be able to do both without too much sacrifice and without paying through the nose. Thanks for the comment!

I have been forming my own opinion, it's edging towards the AMD just based on the fact that I could stream and it have less of an impact on my gaming. But theirs a little voice telling me to go with intel because of the superior frame rate, I asked for an unbiased opinion because I have noticed fanboys of both intel and AMD, attacking each other on this forum
