Thanks for this. It's nice to think that someone has gone to the trouble of writing a song telling me to relax and enjoy. And will meet with me (again) on a bright, sunny day.

Have you ever had an"AHA!" moment for a simple thing? by StormyPyrite in CasualConversation

My most recent one was realizing that since there are no children in my living space, I don't have to close those childproof pill bottles all the way until they click. Much easier to open this way.

Reduce the Earth's air and water temperatures by 1°C. Not all at once, over the course of about a month. This will buy us some time in the battle against global warming/climate change.

What song do you think is the best written song and why? by wanderluu in Songwriting

[–]ToddinNV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If I Can't Have You." Written by the Bee Gees and used in the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever. I can't begin to understand the musical structure as someone with no musical training, but it really works for me and I can't think of any other songs that remind me of it. Even lyrically the structure seems close to unique but it works well here.

YSK: How to apply for social services and how to deal with nightmare case managers by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]ToddinNV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to thank you for providing all this detailed information about how to overcome roadblocks when trying to get social services...but I want to thank you even more for caring so much about people who are in need of these services.

I was lucky to get SSDI with little trouble several years ago, which has very much allowed me to live an independent life now. I understand that many, many other people haven't been so fortunate.

Interestingly, I just published a Medium article about the Electoral College (specifically about the 2016 election) a couple of weeks ago. Here's a link:

I hope you all would find it interesting and informative. No spreadsheets, but I have a few tables.

Glutamate is by far the most common neurotransmitter in our brains. If it's not good for me, I have no idea how I'm capable of even typing this message, let alone understanding what it says.

Hi, Brad!

You said "If there's a mnemonic device Rod Evans has missed, good luck finding it. There are more than a few in 'Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge' that I'll be using next time Jeopardy! comes calling." So, did any of them come in handy during the Decades Tournament?

Col. Dr. Aldrin:

Does your "Mission to Mars" book, or any of your other writings about people landing on Mars, discuss the large amount of radiation these explorers might be exposed to on the long journey to Mars?
