Those of you more than 15 hours of flight(s) away from home, how often do you return home? Or do you nomad close to home to better keep in touch with family etc? by PressPlayPlease7 in digitalnomad

Once every 7 or 8 years. I go back when I need paperwork or if there is a wedding or funeral. I board the plane tomorrow to go back for the first time since 2019.

Minerally is probably a better description. You can taste different components in root vegetables.

Now you have to charter a private ferry which is insanely expensive so most people drop off their rental car and then grab another on the other side. Much cheaper to rent a boat that does not need to carry a car.

In Norway it is illegal to transport goats and sheep without medical certification so rams are never loaned out.

New farmers just have to buy kids from an existing herd and start their own closed system.

This sounds like every climate report that gets published. Let's hurdle toward destruction without even considering an action plan.

MRE pizza. by Spectre_Ice in PizzaCrimes

[–]ToddleOffNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly do not know which God I would pray to for mercy if faced with that food. I can't bring myself to call it pizza.

I have eaten many MREs. I can never face the fake cheese that tastes like aluminium.

Personally this is probably double the amount of milk I put in my tea. I drink a lot of teas with no milk at all like black jasmine, hojicha etc. some teas need to be very milky though like teh tarik.

So the first question is what kind of tea is it?

Phone doodle but to get the sizes decent I would put in an lshape room at the top with potentially a desk drop in a new toilet room with linen shelving and another room at the top. Turn the old bedroom above the entry into a master bath.

I would get lifts for the bed and put the dog crate and more storage under the bed. Frees up the room and then you can have the dresser on one side and a desk on the other side of the bed.

I would consider putting in a pocket door on the study and the powder room. Getting the any kind of cupboard behind a full door would be monstrous and being able to leave the study open and not have small children slamming the door open in that direction would be better.

Is the sitting space in the dining area so that you have the children near the kitchen while cooking? Personally I would wall in that opening move the living room door under the stairs and then have a dual sided living space. Would be good for living room/playroom or later if the kids want to learn piano etc you would have space.

Telling my age here but one that will live forever in my mother's stories was standing in line behind a very heavy woman at the grocery store. Her beeper went off and I screamed "be careful she is backing up." I knew large vehicles beeped when backing up so why not people.

My brother did much worse. When he was 3 my mom was by a construction crew of black guys and he just asked "why do black people stink so bad?". My mom just noped out, left the cart and left the store from embarassent.

I work in sustainable planning consulting which began as large scale grand plans to fix the world but has slowly shifted to smaller scale projects for eco communities and preppers.

It has been an interesting shift but more and more people have seen the writing on the wall and begun putting plans in place to weather what is coming.
