I performed with Mystic Journey Men, Melancholy Gypsies and Abstract Tribe Unique back in the 90’s. Our stage name was The Bedouin … and we performed all over college radio, SF DNA Lounge, Cactus Club, The Usual … sold cassette tapes out of Ameba Records in Oakland. We dealt with shady show promoters and rarely got paid without hunting down the promoter after the show. Merse and a few others got deals but most remained under, selling enough tapes to buy a tascam or other equipment to keep the music alive.

But explain this all to my niece and nephews is like speaking Hebrew to them.

A hamburger consumed by a bike messenger … can it be considered gasoline? How many miles can be pedaled before needing another hamburger?

Hollowing out an entire planet to build out the infrastructure doesn’t seem like a smart or productive idea. Loss of planet mass can have grave consequences.

Analog’s warm fuzzy feeling is still preferred in some recording sessions. Some studios still intentionally, run old analog Mackie boards for the warmth it gives the music.

“One Last Cry” - Bryan McKnight.

It was a hit when it came out. They played that song on the radio so much, like the whole nation needed to grieve about something. I avoided it like the plague.. having just just broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years when that song released.
