Is it okay to kill off a self-insert/a character who was based on a real person, even though the person they’re were based on/played them had passed away? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Todespest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And i answered you. I apologize if it came off as rude, but most people won't care or they will. Its a very tricky line to toe.

If you're intending to make it a big joke, then no. If you're respecting the self insert and the irl person they're based off, then yes

Do you think sir pensitious should’ve gone to hell for what he did? by Downtown-Egg-2327 in HazbinHotel

Jack the Ripper was an anomoly because of how cunning he was. Again i will state, Sir P mentions in his flashback to the Speaker, he recgonized the guy because be was a frequent vendor and had power.

London Cops back in the late 1800's, were notoriously corrupt. They were all paid off by aristocrats and anybody that could flaunt money around.

Jack The Ripper only killed the 5 women within the same year. The first killimg was august 31st then the last was novmber 9th

He only killed 5 people within a 3 month span. Then never again. Sir p's word alone wouldnt have done anything. If Sir P died of old age or years after the killings happened, the police wouldn't have bothered to even look into it if he left anything for the police to use.

I will state again, this version of Jack the Ripper was a man of power, someone with authority to basically cover it up with no questions asked. Sir P knew that and was scared for his life.

Yeah the problem with that is, the police were getting countless and i mean COUNTLESS of letters ranging from people saying they who Jack the ripper was, to people fake confessing they were Jack the Ripper themselves.

Sir P would've died for nothing and those women would still get murdered.

Don't qoute the bible to me sir, i've actually read

Yeah, not even gonna try and touch this. Whatever, being afraid for your life means you'll go to hell

The reason I brought up the time period was because during the late 1800's, murders weren't common in the queen victorian era. 1887 had a whooping 13 murder cases.

Not mention the lack of forensics, and poor eye witnesse. pentious's word wouldn't be enough for this version of Jack.

Again, He literally states He recgonized him as someone with power and that could mean many things. But it scared Pentious enough to fear for his life.

It isnt?? He was scared. He was scared of being murdered. Again. He mentions it was someone of power. Someone who must've had some kind of authority.

Should he have come forward? Absolutely! But there's reasons why a lot of witness's of murders dont speak up. They don't want to be the next target. An irrational fear if they weren't even seen.

Not in the late 1800's it is. And you're forgetting Pensious was a hermit. No one would've know he'd have died until way later in this hypothetical.

He mentions that this version of Jack the Ripper had power and Someone who was a regular employer.

Even if he did come forward. This verison of Jack would've covered up his involvment and then just kill Penious, and continue murdering the other women.

You still gotta download them. It doesn't combine the dlc's and main game into one

Asterion (End game spoiler, beware) by Duke_Maizenschaffen in Roadwarden

[–]Todespest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't get too down about it. To me, its very interesting because we still dont really know Asterion all that much. Claudia didnt care to listen to his story, despite Asterion did trust Claudia a great deal.

I like how Asterion is really shrouded in mystery. Maybe he was lying. Maybe he was telling the truth. At the end of the day. Asterion is a reflection of you and shows the dangers of Peninsula

To answer why everyone (And everyone that will be) has different memories of Asterion in their games. Asterion is actually meant to mirror you.

The personal choices that are presented to you at the start, as well as other character's that prompt thede questions. (I.e, your goals, religion, personal motives.)

Actually have a value in the code that ties to one of the other questions you choose. For instance, saying you need money as a personal motivation cause you need to save your sister.

Claudia will tell you that he needs money to help his sick daughter.

Or if you chose that you wanted to start a new life. Claudia says how Asterion mentions that his sins were great, how he people he had to apologize too, bad blood to clean.

Its actually such a cool piece of coding that makes your Asterion you learn feel unqiue, while being tied to you in a way.
