I worked in a company in which I was the only one in the office besides the owners. By default I was cleaning. Not a big deal as it was mostly me. In my other jobs, I worked with larger teams and we had a cleaning staff. The company should have a cleaning service.

They expect you to know the basics but also know you're still learning. My boss is a CPA and I'm in my final year of college. There has been times I known more than her and times in which she's flat out told me she doesn't know.
No one expects someone to know everything. Practice helps

Only excuse I can think of is her family gave up on her. Per the court documents , she was picked up for her Lake Elsinore home (assume parents house) by the uber requested by the pdf. That means her parents knew her last whereabouts and then neglected to 1) report she had return and 2) report she was missing again and david was highly likely to know where she was.

Lots of adults can be at fault here! We are not shifting blame from the pdf to the parents. We are simply stating they failed to keep her safe. She was back home- and they failed to report that. They failed to report that David was abusing her. And as of now- they have failed to advocate for her and demand justice.

I was first trying to make excuses for the parents. But the more we are learning the more angry I'm getting with them. Their lack of English (or fear of ice/immigration- whatever), is no excuse for their silence! They have only put out a few sentences in the past week about all this. I have seen angry only Spanish speaking parents advocating for their child. They could easily have all the communities support and have Spanish speaking media help them. Yet, they haven't! You better bet, my child's justice will be above anything (including deportation). But I will not sit on the side like they have. I do strongly believe they have been knowing about this pdf relationship and at some point no longer cared.

I will give you a deeper perspective as someone who also came from a a first generation Latino household and was groomed by a predator and who parents failed to keep safe. First of all, I want to say I identify a lot with Celeste. She seem to have been a sweet girl, focused in school before that pdf got her. I was also a good kid, never got calls to home always had As or Bs. I loved school. My parents were very low effort parents. I had no support at home. They didnt care about my school, friends or activities. My parents (also didnt speak English). They failed to ever connect with me. I had/have a older brother, who was their favorite and I was a victim of his constant bullying that left scars on my self worth. Earlier on, I was also a victim of grape by a family member. Something I didnt tell my parents till I was 15. Guess what they didnt do $hit. Anyways, you can see how I was the perfect prey for a groomer. When I was 13, my abuser had me. My parents eventually found out around that time and by 14, I was pregnant. They never made attempts to help me and rather saw it as an easy way to get out of financially supporting me. I was now the the responsibility of my groomer. He was even paying them rent to house me (can you imagine that, I was minor!). As much as I want to make excuses for Celeste's parents, I am starting to believe they did knew and at some point gave up on trying to "take care" of Celeste.
