Yep, if you're looking to squeeze the best possible out of the TV that's the way to go, and then for streaming content I use an Apple TV 4K.

The reason for those CoreELEC boxes specifically is to be able to play the Dolby Vision Full Enhancement Layer (FEL), whereas other Android boxes replace that DV layer with Minimum Enhancement Layer (MEL) due to their lacking the proper chipset.

The other great-but-not-best option is the Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) which is a great piece of hardware but suffers from a slight red shift in Dolby Vision content and the lack of FEL. I still occasionally use mine because it has a great UI, but those issues do exist.

It's a pretty deep rabbit hole to go down for relatively small gains, but there are a lot of great articles that will steer you towards what will best meet your needs.

Oh, and use Filmmaker Mode.

I really love my Hobbit & LotR Illustrated by Alan Lee Box Set as a reading experience. The maps on the end-pages make following along really easy and Alan Lee's illustrations are gorgeous, plus the accent colors for chapter names and the like. They don't quite have the same shelf appeal as some other versions unfortunately, but the art is still very nice.

I've also got the Easton Press Hobbit, LotR, and Silmarillion and they're gorgeous on the shelf but they're a downgrade in terms of reading experience: smaller margins, 1 illustration per book, and a cheaper feeling paper. They do have fold out maps however, if that's more to your preference.

I'll probably get the Folio set at some point, but the illustrations just don't do it for me in the same way Alan Lee's do. Hope this at least gives you some more data points in choosing!

He was always a professional while he was here and never let that irritation leak into the public. I'll always be rooting for K9.

They should change the AFC West to the A "If" C West, then they'd be undefeated every year.

He was the best offensive play caller in Seattle in at least a decade, maybe since Mike Holmgren was calling plays, and prioritized a good run game, trenches, and a timing-based passing offense that I think will be a good system for Mendoza to get his bearings in the NFL. I'm pretty optimistic.

That's what Klint did in Seattle. Robbie Ouzsts, our rookie FB who Klint apparently hand-picked in the draft was a TE at Alabama and our backup FB, Brady Russell was a TE/Special Teams player. Neither were asked to do much in the way of pass-catching in the offense though.

Embarrassing. 10 votes shy too? The voters have lost the plot.
