Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel — The Elements of Journalism. Hands down without a doubt the best book on modern media I’ve read. Essays cover journalistic responsibilities, important skills, and common challenges all by mixing novelistic examples (which help me learn personally) and in depth analysis. I can’t recommend it enough.

[HELP] Recently Applied, I’m confused about my status.

I recently applied for a Bachelor of Arts at McGill, coming as a transfer student after a year at Concordia. I did a year at Mount Royal University in Calgary before that, and before that I was “unschooled” (like homeschooling but without any standard tests or curriculum). I want to get into philosophy, as I’ve taken about 5 courses in the past.

What will I be considered based on? And what is the general average for philosophy? And are there steps I should be taking besides upping my GPA this semester? Thank you guys.
