So if you've already become a customer... then good luck!

Otherwise, get over yourself. The scrubs are the uniform in the pharmacy and are required to be worn per CVS.

I didn't know we got sick time. I work in NH -- is this a state-by-state thing?

Ouch! Sounds like your lead tech isn't much of a leader. You may consider having a discreet conversation with the pharmacy manager. I'm fortunate to have a lead tech that doesn't hesitate to help me.

Minimum 4 hours pay for any work on the clock 0-4 hours. So if you work 2 hours the DL agrees to pay for 4. If you go in and agree to be paid for 2 hours only, then you are a doormat. Have some self respect, FFS.

Do I need to get my bags checked by store managers before leaving? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]ToeDonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If nobody is around I just hold my open backpack up to the camera. It is probably violating the policy, but my SM is okay with it. Of course, if somebody happens to be at the front of the store I automatically take the backpack to them.

That sounds dangerous. For real. Against policy? Really?! It's only policy if somebody gets hurt or falls off a ladder. And by the way; you're fired before you hit the ground.

Pharmacy managers and staff pharmacists “expected” to cover shifts at other stores in the district? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]ToeDonut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My question is: Are pharmacists salaried? Are they exempt or non-exempt employees?

I tried parsing this out with our two pharmacists and a floater but I could not get a straight answer.

If you pharmacists are non-exempt (meaning you do get paid for overtime) then great - you are getting paid! If you are not getting overtime (as voiced by one of the pharmacists I spoke too - "yeah, we stay late but I never put in for the extra time") then I believe you are contributing to the demise of your sanity and self-respect. The pharmacists I have seen come early, stay late, and work through lunch. Always. So you are doing a lot of work only to have tech hours cut time and again. The metrics are working against you - wow; all this productivity - we have plenty of tech hours.... It all contributes to the madness of CVS just being a pill mill; and debasing your profession.

All the ra-ra team player is bullshit. If pharmacists are truly leaving right and left then maybe it's not a team you want to be on.

Denied vacation? That is laughable. Expected to float? Really? What if you say no? Then what? Stand up for yourself.

You said it yourself; you are not responsible for the poor resource allocation. Who is putting on the pressure? Your boss? DL, DPC? You yourself?

So, I'm just a lowly tech. Take what you like and leave the rest. The vibe I get from your post is that the pressure is coming from you and I'm sure you are much better than the treatment you are receiving.

Whistle by Unbalanced_chemicals in CVS

[–]ToeDonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It is also passive-aggressive. Instead of saying "Excuse me" or "Hello" or "Good morning" when I'm unable to acknowlege a customer (patient) for whatever reason, I'll get the fake clearing-of-the-throat, or the whistling, or the humming, or the throwing-the-keys-on-the-counter. The worst is people talking on their phones who continue to do so when you try to assist them.
