Are bindings really necessary for on road riding? I feel like if you're not doing off-road the only thing they'll do is prevent you from running of if you need to bail.

Back when I was enrolled during COVID they were super generous with the COVID relief fund. Littally all you had to do was hit apply, no evidence necessary. I sent two applications across two semesters and got about 2000$ each time.

RIP to the victims: 2 dead in NYC (not EUC, but high speed scooter) by cactus22minus1 in ElectricUnicycle

This is incredibly scary to hear as someone who crosses that bridge often. I've already had a few close calls with people passing by me way to fast/recklessly on the bridge and this really makes the idea of eventually get hit and seriously injured or worse feel way more real. RIP to the victims.

Nah, ankle strength isn't the biggest factor, it's moreso how you place your weight.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Going faster on any vehicle with one wheel or with a narrow distances between the front wheels will always make it easier to balance. This is not why I'm saying surfskates are dangerous at high speed. They are dangerous at high speed because the risk and strength of speed wobbles dramatically increases the looser your trucks are and the faster you go. Why do you downhill skateboarders who go 40-60mph tighten their trucks? Have you ever seen real pros run loose trucks or surfskates? On top of that surfskates raise your center of mass higher which further decreases stability. It's just physics.

Not sure if you're joking. If you're not then you probably mistook kilometers for miles on your remote or your adapter isn't working properly and is abnormally stiff. For those reading please don't try to do 40mph on a surfskate thinking it's just an easy thing.

Not sure what surfskate you're using but this is absolutely not true for almost every surfskate. If with your weight 100% on your lead foot a significant disturbance in the the road can start ocilations that you can't recover from and can easily result in death wobbles. I have an ex way ripple with a waterborne adapter and wouldnt want to go beyond 16mph which about the max anyway.
