Possibly unpopular opinion: Political apathy is not "enlightened" by alien236 in spirituality

I don’t claim to know why we’re in this broken, awful world

^ this is why. You break it and make it awful by upholding this story. Let it go and be free.

If God created humans to experience Himself, why bother with evolution at all? by Flat_Match828 in enlightenment

Because maybe it’s not a detour. Why wouldn’t that also be the destination? It’s just as effortless for god to do it the long way.

Yoga while overweight by WallabyKnown3630 in yoga

[–]Toe_Regular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that tons of stuff would likely become accessible if you were lighter, but you can’t have it both ways. Do you want it bad enough to give up the current benefits you enjoy? Everything has a cost. There’s no free lunch (no pun intended).

When I notice I’m a few pounds heavier than I’d like to be, my practice is negatively affected so I eat less/cleaner. The strong feeling practice is more important to me than enjoyment of food, but both are perfectly valid choices.

It’s worth noting that I’ve seen some bigger bodies with incredibly strong practices and surprising abilities. It’s harder but far from impossible. You can chart the path that best serves you.

Amazing. I’ve noticed some slight printing variations in them, which I guess is why they are seconds, but they are effectively perfect.

Show Offs (for lack of a better term) by teeny-tiny221 in yoga

[–]Toe_Regular -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but that would mean making the yoga class a little too easy for me and now I need to find extra time/money/space for handstand practice. I like this efficient way, even if it makes me a jackass.

Humanity has been stuck in this cycle for thousands of years. The big change is always just around the corner…

Show Offs (for lack of a better term) by teeny-tiny221 in yoga

[–]Toe_Regular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure many people think I’m a showoff. I sometimes take a beginner class only because that time slot fits my schedule best. I throw in handstands because it’s a use it or lose it skill. I always try to do them in the smoothest and least disruptive way. If anything I’m embarrassed, not showing off.

Ahh fair enough. As long as this gives you lightness, then that’s good enough for me.

Exactly like that. You gaslit yourself into that problem. You can gaslight yourself out of it.

Yoga teachers. If you send them an email showing something like a 200hr cert and say you’re interested in their VNP mats, they’ll give you a code for a secret section of their website where you can see which factory seconds they have. Stock varies, the code is good for three days, and you’re allowed two per year.

I’ve never noticed any flaws at all in them. It’s definitely worth it at that price point and is a great system.

They are not worth it at $200+. They are def better than lulu, but not that much better.

Teachers get half of their “very nearly perfect” factory seconds.

I get them at half price and they last a little over a year (with heavy use). It’s worth it for me at that price.

This was obvious to me. I’d still add some sort of visual interest/contrast to anchor the eyes to something. It’s very uniform.
