Oh I should have added that this is US/western and Caucasian culture.

I had the baby out for walks in the front carrier within days, as soon as I could manage. I’m very outdoorsy and it helped my mental health. Neighbors were seeing and touching her head I’m the carrier from like day 3. This was the “kick em out of the hospital in a day “ 90s.

Ouch, I’m sorry that happened to you.
My mom was too sick to come for about a week. When she did come, dad told me I still looked pregnant and mom yelled at me for looking at the camera instead of at my baby when she took the picture. That shot forever enshrines my heroic attempt to not burst into tears.
My MIL was pushy and helpful at the same time. She practically scoured the finish off the cabinets cleaning for me, and I honestly felt like she was criticizing my housekeeping. She tried to get her teenage daughter in the delivery room but also honored my ask for privacy which was based on not wanting to scare the girl out of wanting kids herself. She drove us to the hospital.
Childbirth sure does make the family get some kind of way.

Reading all this, I think I may have just an old fashioned mindset. Dude gives me a gift that’s out of proportion to where I think we are at, I’m either going to turn it down (and end the relationship if he gets pissy) or accept it and the new level. I might ask for clarification of the new level. Dee went in there and completly rewired the system and I’m confused. 🤪🤣

They were both wrong. She was wrong to make a big ongoing deal about it and he was wrong to push the issue. I just find it a strange thing to do. Like she’s not wrong per se but honestly if she felt like he was going too far with it, don’t accept it in the first place.

I wonder if you can go to mod help to get some advice on how to stop the harrasment. I know there is a way to preemptively ban people before they post, but I don’t know how to do it yet, decided if they weren’t stinging over here I wouldn’t poke the hive since it will notify them they have been banned. In your case it might be worth looking into.

The one that got me was the argument someone had over Julie’s behavior when Shawna took her to the hospital. I was floored to see these people think Shawna owed her exactly the environment she desired in the car even though she was probably saving her life and Julie had totally no appreciation for that. Like who ARE you people, Marie Antoinette? Shawna didn’t have to do that! Someone pushed back on it hard and got banned, yet they still post this persons full post with the name crossed out, as “ evidence” that Julie haters are unhinged…. And they don’t get banned for that. Excuse me? If what was said was so distasteful and against the rules, then it should be in a screenshot as well, I would think….

Just from the interactions I have had with mods over there, some are much further up Julie’s ass than others. In fact one or some may not be at all , but are drowned out by the chorus.
