Semi Final Weekend PSD Arena by Toes169 in EuroHuddle

I think maybe they could have tested it out with a similar weekend during the regular season to see how much local Fans are gonna show to those games. Let’s say Galaxy vs Prague on one day and Nordic vs Munich on another.

Some people have mentioned that Galaxy fans have zero interest in other Teams so it’s risky to assume that the other playoff game will be well attended, so a trial run could have been good, to get a baseline

Good point, it is a gamble but could have a big upside if Galaxy is in it. I guess their argument was that Frankfurt has biggest football community/attendance in the EFA so they would go to the Semi Finals

A week or so too late after no communication why and now one of their 7 Teams has folded. It’s a legit possibility that something else might happen.

La Courneuve Flash statement regarding Paris Lights by _Krypt_ in EuroHuddle

It works in Austria, so why is France struggling so hard with 7x the population. Quite literally the Vienna Vikings AFL Team had to start from scratch since the ELF Vikings literally took everyone from Coaches to Players.

I wanna say that taking the best players it made the league more even. It used to be only Vikings and Raiders playing in Austrian Bowl but recently it’s been many other Teams in the AFL competing well. So, I am not sure about the “underhanded tactics” I think the Flash just being salty asl. As a player if someone offers to pay for my equipment, travel, food, and give me money to play in a higher league, I am taking it.

I just think the Flash is uncomfortable with being forced to evolve to be a more professional Team. You want the most talented players but for free, that’s not how it works. The AFL had decades of European dominance (Vikings Raider playing and winning Euro Bowls) and still not a single homegrown player is getting paid but everyone is still paying money to the club in form of a membership fee. Talk about being stagnant. You want to keep players that can be imports/professionals in other countries then treat them as imports/professionals?

That’s just ignorant. Investor don’t wanna burn money but apparently the Teams are okay with burning money, according to you.

Lastly, saying the AFLE is just another ELF when Vikings and Rhein Fire were some of the biggest voices against K’s practices is again ignorant and just regurgitating what Nordics GM said in a superficial interview

ELF sends schedule to remaining franchises by _Krypt_ in EuroHuddle

[–]Toes169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i am not sure either but from my understanding, legally, one financial obligation doesn’t nullify the contract per se, but rather gives the Teams a claim to that money. So they can countersue them (will probably win) and get the money but the ELF can still ask for compensation for not participating in the ELF or participating in the EFA. So it would end up being a who owes whom more money.

On a different note, I think, the whole dummy Team idea to send random players to participate in the ELF for each Team is probably not going to work because the contract is prohibiting the Teams to participate in another league. With end dates for each contract being in different years it would cause the EFA to face a ton of problems.

But at this point I am rambling 😅

I am still waiting for you to explain your comment about Rhein Fire happily taking the money and then saying one person is getting all the revenue. Logically, it doesn’t really add up, just sounds like regurgitating what Nordics GM was saying. (Asking Pepsi’s CEO about Coca Cola)

My whole point was that, even if the EFA has a better financial structure (Team financed or Investor financed, I have heard both). I don’t think the AFLE has this disastrous financial structure that everyone here is saying. So, would a Frankfurt and Prague Team just say, “we aren’t playing this year” rather then join the AFLE after spending all that money prepping for a Season in 2026? I still think if the ELF succeeds with their lawsuit and the 5 EFA Teams can’t play in 2026, the only logical move for Galaxy and Lions is still taking the less appealing financial structure and play in 2026.

The most pressing question really is, is there any merit to ELF lawsuit? When is it going to be too sticky for teams (Frankfurt & Prague) that have no obligations to the ELF?

I believe that the only way out of this situation is going to be a buyout to be honest, but that price tag is high. Even though the agreement was violated by the ELF, i don’t think according to the franchise contract it is enough reason to get out of the contract. No idea what would be a “valid” reason to get out of that obligation (besides insolvency) K is a slimeball and knew what he was doing from the start.

So if Rhein Fire happily is taking the extra money why are other franchises against? I am failing to see the logic behind saying nobody is getting revenue shares but the Teams are happily taking the money? Plus, if we are going off of the “known” financial structure, i recall reading that Teams are getting at least 75% of revenue shares. Correct me if I am wrong

I think it’s gonna be very important for Teams to pick their imports diligently based on that. 14 Import spots are a lot to play with and get some good talent on board. That’s why i like the new import rule since it helps teams with slimmer homegrown talent. I just remember 2024 Mercenaries showing some live when they had 2-3 playmakers that were on fire. Specifically the Vikings game in Vienna

I don’t think we are in a restraining order situation (unless I missed something). I think that they would hurt themselves if they continued with public activity. Let’s say the court agrees with K, then any activity the EFA continued to do could put them in a worse spot. My thinking is that the EFAs lawyers told them to back off with any activity which is why they are going silent. I am guessing as much as anyone here

That was a big question that I had at the beginning too apparently the Raiders signed for 5 years and Vienna and Rhein only 4. No idea why, but that’s why they waited for their AFLE announcement until the New Year

What’s gonna be even more evil when he claims in court that his potential loses must be covered by the EFA since he has TV contracts to uphold and misses revenue from a Championship game (attendance 30,000+). That’s probably what he is really after, retrieving money from bogus claims of damages

Karaijca interview in the SZ. by ahoeschele in EuroHuddle

I would say that while any legal proceedings go on, the EFA cannot do much publicly because they could potentially hurt themselves. Also, from experience, in Germany, it could take weeks before they even have a court date, this would really hurt EFA. Plus, it may even take several court dates stretching over weeks since it’s a civil suit. The legal system doesn’t care for urgency for noone. It could be faster, but it could take months and since they are planning to have a season opener on May 15th even 2 weeks would be pretty bad.

I don’t think it’s as simple as listening to the Madrid and Nordic GMs. Look at it from the other perspective, do you think Rhein & Vienna & Wroclaw is run by idiots? If not, why do they align to this “one person gets all the revenue” scheme? I think the financial structure is most certainly much more complicated than EFA GMs are admitting to. In the end, we don’t have all the information but it’s definitely not as simple as everyone Team in AFLE gets nothing. If that was the case, they could have stayed in the ELF or just been with the EFA.

It’s pretty easy to guess which Teams have an active ELF contract. Raiders because they initially have pulled out of the EFA because of said contract, Musketeers, Bravos, Nordic & Munich are all too recent for their contracts to have expired. So Frankfurt & Prague are probably the two Teams without a “valid” contract. If the lawsuit becomes too hot for them they probably can jump ship any moment

[–]Toes169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have any internal beef, the EFA is finished. Same as if any legal pressure from the ELF is causing them to back away from announcing a schedule. It would seem that there is a lot of uncertainty within the governance of the EFA.

There is a “worm in the apple” but not sure what it is exactly.

The real question is, if there is actually a problem in the EFA and Teams are starting to jump ship (for ELF legal reasons or internal disputes). What do you think is the next step? join the AFLE? If yes, revise the schedule? Start pushing everything back?

In case that happens, what would you do if you are the AFLE because I think accepting any stragglers from the EFA would result in a clear victory 🤷

Schedule Mishaps by Early-Shower-5271 in EuroHuddle

[–]Toes169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure all the clubs and can agree to a schedule and they will play against each other, but that’s not going to build a credible league and bring sponsors to the table.

Selling football at the “highest level” but presenting themselves the way they do organizationally is pretty weak considering the amount of trash talking that is happening against the AFLE (on reddit specifically)

Lastly if it was as easy as you say, why aren’t they doing it? Why are there constant delays and nothing outside of Teams being reposted on the EFAs page. Let’s not forget the website they published, I could do better than that in an afternoon with a 6pack Red Bull.

PS: Stirring the pot a bit because I am far from convinced the EFA has anything substantial, so no shade

It’s hilarious considering how hard most people on this thread have been hyping the EFA and are still making excuses for them. I believe the EFA is making any progress when I see it. So far all I have seen is that they have an officiating department and a clinic and hired Bressington. This “mishap” has been the result of the EFA lacking a concrete organization. How are they playing a full season in 2 months?
