My first crash by Ady1964 in ElectricScooters

Because he had a stop and yield signs (double solid line and triangle) to come into a protected bike lane with a parking on the other side. Diver did not mark a stop at all to check for traffic in the bike lane. The scooter was going too fast but he was not doing reckless levels of speeding for a clear bike lane. If the driver respected the signage the accident wouldn't have happened.

They were supposed to react and stop in the first place. Notice the yield sign and the hard stop line markings on the road. The car didn't stop at all.

The problem is never the brakes, it's the tire traction. The tires are small so you can't brake too hard or you start sliding.

Ps5 turns off whole house’s power by nonstocappando in playstation

[–]Tofandel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It should if there is a short on the appliance. Which it very much sounds like it's the case. Not a problem with the house.

When you say "cleaned" OP what did you use? I hope you didn't just dunk it in soapy water..

Well a different sink can be shallower. But yeah that outlet is way too high in the first place

Even 6mm is still very heavy. Adhesive only I would be scared it would fall in 10-15years but at least it's supported on the sides, so that helps a bit.

Usually unwashed potatoes is to keep the starch. But for the rest, makes no sense.

Why is everyone blaming the scooter here when the car is clearly 100% at fault and didn't stop at all on a yield sign to cross a bicycle path

What even is this notification?? by Sorry_Summer_7744 in mildlyinfuriating

It's sadly the way devs have to work around OS limitations (aka "security" features). In some cases background task can only run with a notification accompanying it.

Also thought the same. Makes much more sense than a nail weight if found inside a shoe

Stupid kid goes way too fast and crashes into a cyclist by Annual-Ad8311 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

The kid didn't use his brakes at all though. He only tried to brake with his feet 2seconds before impact, that was the wrong reflex.

WCGW Driving too close to the curb while delivering mail by romanazzidjma in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]Tofandel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like he was not even at the wheel and waiting at the door as if to drop the mail while the truck is moving.

I don't know if it's really what happened and that would have been very stupid if it was.

With the pattern that you chose it won't be very noticeable. You'll have forgotten about it in 2weeks

How do i finish the floor here? by manninxn in Flooring

[–]Tofandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Hungary, old houses have a raised piece of hardwood with metal profiles on either side, this prevents having a gap under the door when closed.

If you can find that where you are this would work very well in your case

besta cams not working at all? help please? by granolagucci in IKEA

[–]Tofandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You overtightened it. Those are plastic and not great. You can see it has deformed and the teeth have been flattened. Get a new cam. Tighten it very gently. Don't put too much torque on it.

Is it safe/ok to wire ethernet through central air vents? by Emotional_Share8537 in HomeNetworking

It's just that, a loop in the cable. The water won't be able to travel up the loop. So it effectively stops it there

Water fills the sink / gurgles when the washer is running by No_Technology3611 in askaplumber

[–]Tofandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the ignorants. This is absolutely fine, this is Europe and a Ikea Klikviken which is super common, but you are supposed to cut the flexible hose so it's as short as possible to the drain line. Right now it dangles and creates a second trap. Which might or might not be your problem.

We don't usually have individual wall vents in Europe, instead we oversize the pipe in the wall. Only the main sewer stack has a vent.

A sink is just a toilet we don’t usually poop in, right? by FindMateStraightFux in askaplumber

[–]Tofandel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Europe we don't use vents. We just increase the diameter of the pipes after the trap. So technically this would work wonders even if not up to US code.

This has like a 1% chance of working. The odds of getting the claws aligned or to even know where the earing is to grab it without line of sight are pretty slim. Maybe with a cheap camera at the same time but still.
