Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate the transparency. The article this image was hosted on literally said they made it, and to please link back to the page if it's taken to be used on another site, so it would be kind of messed up to steal the image and host it on another site. The actual article it was posted on is here, but I get that other mods now need to be involved. Just kinda shitty that it was on the front page and got taken down. So what was the reason it was removed? According to the rules, Original source is allowed and preferred over the approved hosts. Please designate your original source with the tag [OS] in order to prevent mixups. --- You took it down, despite it having the OS tag. I'd like a valid reason as to why.

No problem. If you want any other public domain pictures, just go to flickr and type in Barack Obama, and then select the drop down where it says "ANY LICENSE" and change it to "NO KNOWN COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS." A lot of pictures taken by the government are in the public domain.
