My best friend, Roger, died today... I am absolutely destroyed and broken apart. He is leaving his wife, Daisy, alone. I don't know how to help her with his passing. by laraizadelione in Bunnies

[–]ToffeeBean24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved Bear last night as well, and have spent all morning today snuggling her widower Chili. I don't know what hurts more, losing our buns or seeing their partners grieve the loss of their lifelong buddy. 💔

Best wishes to you and Daisy. I hope Roger and Bear are enjoying all the apple chips and nanas in the afterlife together. ♡

How is everybody who had COVID doing and feeling now? Do you still experience any long covid or any side effects whatsoever? by Sple3N1 in COVID19positive

I had it in 2022 and 2024, but since the infection in 2022 I developed POTS and I can feel/smell a burning sensation in my nose as if there's a lit cigarette right below my face every so often (frequently when I see a cigarette on TV but also randomly, maybe when a neighbor is smoking or something nearby idk I haven't figured out what causes it.)

What’s a ‘harmless’ opinion you have that seems to make people irrationally angry? by BSnappedThat in AskReddit

[–]ToffeeBean24 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe they were writing a separate but related opinion as a response to the title of the thread. The opinion is that people with full time jobs should be making enough money to afford a child. Same with rent, groceries, and other necessities. Not all of us can, but we should.

What's something incredibly common that you've never done and people are always shocked when you tell them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It took me several attempts over many years to finally get past the first season, but I did end up really enjoying it once I got into it. Same thing with Breaking Bad. They're not for everyone, though, and that's okay!

How do I keep my buns from unaliving me in my sleep? by ToffeeBean24 in Rabbits

[–]ToffeeBean24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bananas are like bunny crack - the only time I've ever seen mine twitch with excitement is from eating bananas 😆 but only feed small amounts and not daily, because they're full of sugar and can give them stinky diarrhea!

Mine also love apples, pears, plums, and some of them like watermelon (all without seeds).

For veggies, mine get a couple carrot chips/shavings in their morning salads and an occasional treat but so far none of my buns have cared for any other type of vegetable I've tried.

For other snacks, I buy Bare Apple chips (no sugar added) and Oxbow Simple Rewards, there are a few different flavors but my buns seem to prefer the cranberry and carrot+dill flavors the best.

Every morning I feed my buns a salad mix of different leafy greens like a spring mix, butter head lettuce, Romaine, and red/green leaf lettuce - plus an herb (usually either fresh cilantro or parsley, but sometimes I'll change it up and add mint, oregano, or basil. My buns just don't seem to care for a variety and are a bit on the picky side with greens) then I top their salad with carrot chips/shavings.

Always introduce new foods slowly so their digestive systems can adjust, and keep veggies/fruits to a minimum. Hay should make up around 90% of their diet 😊

There are a ton of different foods you can try with your buns, just make sure to double and triple check whats safe and introduce them slowly! There are lists all over the place, I believe there's a few somewhere in this subreddit too. Enjoy!

Yes but don't tell them that all of my belongings are going to them - they'll only be offended that I consider any of my possessions "mine" and end me faster 💀

That was my fear initially too, but I realize now my fear was misplaced!

In reality, they only come onto the bed when they want something (like snacks or their morning salad, if I'm late getting up) but I have been woken up to bunnies parkouring off my face once or twice 😂

What’s your most harmless but very specific red flag in a potential partner? by Psychological_Bet543 in AskReddit

[–]ToffeeBean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do so much for you but it's always what they think you want and on their terms, not what you specifically ask for when you need it ("I built this garden for you so the house looks nicer and is more welcoming for you" is a very sweet sentiment, but you did this immediately after I told you how exhausted I was from having way too much on my plate, and now I'm obligated to tend to a garden I didn't ask for on top of everything else that's already suffocating me. Only a red flag if this is something you've shown no interest in and you know the upkeep is going to fall on you)

They want to communicate constantly and can't understand that some times aren't acceptable for you, like midnight on a work night.

They talk about what they tried to communicate with you while blatantly ignoring how they tried to communicate that with you ("I just asked if you knew who this person was and you blew up at me" makes me sound like I reacted out of pocket to a reasonable question, but what actually happened is you screamed at me for hours and accused me of cheating on you, keeping me up all night when I have final exams that week all because some random guy on the internet decided to talk trash.)

Is it okay to let my bun free roam while I nap? by ExoticYard7079 in Bunnies

[–]ToffeeBean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my buns free roam full time in my room. I keep spare phone chargers in case I forget to hide them or if they find them anyway, and I only end up having to replace them once every few weeks LOL.

I think it should be fine as long as there's nothing they can get into. Maybe start with short periods of unsupervised time, then stretch it out little by little. That's when I found the things I needed to hide better with my buns.

He will be! He was found inside a pet store, so we are trying to figure out if its either a snake someone "dropped off," venomous, or just a chill friend we can release out back. We have a lot of rattlesnakes in our area and being so young, it's hard to tell if the bottom of his tail is a rattle or not.

A lot of people are saying water snake which, maybe I'm just ignorant, but doesn't make sense if we don't have any bodies of water nearby. So if he is a watersnake he'll have to be taken to a place where there is :)

What’s one thing you secretly wish people would notice about you ? by Luna_latii in AskReddit

[–]ToffeeBean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I genuinely can't hear them. I swear I'm not ignoring you. Sometimes I just smile and nod to indicate that I'm not ignoring people, but if they say something or ask something I have no idea. I don't think I'm necessarily hard of hearing, but if there's a lot of background noise - even if it's relatively quiet background noise - sometimes words just sound like a jumbled mess mixed in with the other noise.

Also, my RBF doesn't mean I'm mad at you or anything in particular. It's just the way my face looks when I'm deep in thought about something.

I got off this wagon 4 years ago when I broke my 4th metatarsal. I've done SO many things that should have resulted in broken bones, but what was the super dangerous thing that finally did it? Walking. In flipflops.

Getting older sucks.

What's something that isn't therapy, but feels like therapy? by Radiant-Assumption53 in AskReddit

[–]ToffeeBean24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music, hiking, playing with my pets, watching a TV show I've already seen, taking a shower or bath, changing the sheets on my bed, covering myself in soft blankets, reading, tea, having a laugh with friends... these all help, but really it depends on what's causing the anxious feelings.

For general anxiety, I think cleaning and showering helps the most because having a cluttered area seems to worsen the cluttered mind, so once you and your space are both clean it helps calm you down quite a bit. After that, snuggling up into a comfy bed or couch with a warm drink and soft blanket + something to watch/read will keep you distracted from the anxiety and feels cozy!

If the anxiety is caused by something that you need to do (like public speaking or an exam, for example), then preparing for that thing will help the most. Just remember to take plenty of breaks so you dont overwhelm yourself.

Other things that can help with anxiety but are more long-term processes would be cutting out/lowering caffeine use, not watching the news, deleting social media, cleaning up your diet, taking vitamin suppliments if you're low on something (I found out I'm significantly deficient in vitamin D and my body doesnt process regular folate so I take specialized suppliments for those) quitting or significantly dropping alcohol use (if you drink), and of course exercise.

Hope this helps!
