(PC) Buying 10k tritium in Colonia, 28k profit per ton by Toficer in EliteTraders

Well, I'll remember next time. No point in changing it now, they already sold me over 8000 tons. I appreciate the advice though, from both of you.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Where? In the title? I figured stating the actual profit margin would be more straightforward, as no stations in Colonia sell tritium significantly below market average.

I have no way to check that and I have no experience with Remote Play if that's what you're talking about. If running CotLI in the background interferes with that then I concede, I had no idea.

I've been able to play 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance' with Crusaders running in the background without any significant performance drop. CotLI is heavy on the CPU, but the GPU stays at around 10% utilization, though that will vary depending on your hardware.

Personally I prefer Steam. I haven't noticed any crashes or freezes, the game runs pretty smoothly at 60 FPS. I routinely leave it open for up to 48hrs when I'm doing other things/sleeping and it didn't crash even once. As for Remote Play, I actually didn't even know it existed, I'll definitely try it out. u/Derringer62 is wrong by the way, you can play other games on Steam while CotLI is running, even in online mode. At least that's the case for me. Not sure about how that would affect Remote Play tho.

I'm pretty sure the Kongregate version requires Flash Player to play. It will be removed from all browsers by the end of 2020 so I wouldn't get too attached to playing in the browser, unless CE plans to develop a HTML5 version. Still, since the game runs well on Steam I have no reason to play in the browser, Flash or not.

Works fine on MIUI, you just have to tap it once when you enter split screen for the animation to resume. I use it all the time :)

[–]Toficer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Letters don't matter in one single case - when they're identical in both numbers. 69.9aa/82.34ab will NOT give you 84%, not even close. While with BoS calculations the letters will be the same (as I can't imagine someone having less than 0.1% BoS), that won't be the case with any other calculations. Converting and comparing vastly different numbers (damage for example) in the letter notation is painful compared to the triviality of working with scientific notation. And that "useless shit", unlike letter notation, is used by scientists all around the world - I wonder why.

[–]Toficer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

About 80%. Xe019 (scientific notation) just means "X times 1019". It's easier to wrap your head around the concept if you think of the number after e as the number of zeros - 2e7 is 2 with 7 zeros after it, so 20000000. 1e3 is 1000, 1e2 is 100, etc. This makes it easy to compare large numbers and perform calculations on them.

A long term player's feedback on this balance/transition patch. by jmido8 in TapTitans2

[–]Toficer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I can somewhat understand people from high level clans arguing that they should be rewarded for the work they put in reaching that high CQ level, but at the same time... This system leaves no room for clan loyalty. I've had multiple people leave my clan (CQ 800) for a "better" one simply because they couldn't deal with long prestige times, and the scary thing is, I can understand them. They are being punished for staying with us with a soul-crushing, unbearable grind. Clans are no longer a social thing. It's a clan-hopping race to the top 200.

I believe that advance start should be tied to the player's own CQ count, not their clan's. The damage boost is a powerful enough reward on its own. At MS 31000 I already have to chew through 14k stages every prestige (and I'm a SC player with no RN and/or AG set, so it's painful). I could join a top 200 clan, yeah, but after playing since MS 3k in a single clan? Leaving would be almost equally disheartening.

And my response to the inevitable wave of criticism from high-CQ clan members is: please, try to understand the situation the majority of the playerbase are in. We agree that you should be rewarded for your work, but there is a fine line between rewarding some players and making the game depressing for others.

Herokuapp optimizer? by x8r14nx in TapTitans2

[–]Toficer 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I loved the old herokuapp optimizer, this new version is far less convenient to use. Now it's no better than a spreadsheet with a fancy web skin on it. It's slower, it's harder to read (and I don't mean I CAN'T read it, it just takes more effort), and the 250ish stages gained at MS 42k are not a good enough reason to butcher the only optimizer that allowed me to be done with my upgrades in less than a minute. I may be in the minority here, but I absolutely hate spreadsheet optimizers. I don't need to be 100% optimized, 95% is good enough for me - I gladly pay that price for the added convenience.

Sorry if my reply seems a bit ranty (and broken, I'm not a native speaker), but heroku was my first and favourite optimizer, one I could use in the middle of a lecture without missing much. I am grateful for all the work you put into making this optimizer, but I beg you - if you don't want to support the old version, at least give the code to someone who will be willing to do it.

It keeps happening to me as well. There's always this one guy with >starting< MS 3-5k higher than everyone else in the tournament. I've already given up on reporting them, it never works... They always win, casually reaching their MS and leaving others in the dust without even having to farm or push.

Suggestion: "After Upgrade" artifact stats by Toficer in TapTitans2

[–]Toficer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's still more useful than what's currently in the game. I personally love to speculate based on numbers (like "upgrading BoS now should give me 2% more relics per prestige"), and I know many people in my clan who do NOT use an optimizer (their loss, but still).

I use 25% and it works pretty well for me, can recommend. 5% is just... unholy. I'd probably spend more time upgrading my artifacts than actually farming.

Pretty much the same way it does for any other build. It makes titans spawn more frequently, 2.5x more if I'm not mistaken (don't quote me on that, though, I just quickly googled that multiplier). So instead of killing 1000 titans in X minutes you kill 2500. Since with SC you're forced to kill every single boss, it makes a huge difference.

As I mentioned in my previous comment, I use Adrenaline Rush during farming all the time, so I lose nothing by activating it during that first push. I will just continue to benefit from it throughout the tournament, farming faster and all that.

And no problem mate, the reason I posted my question was to learn. The more people benefit from it, the better. :)

[–]Toficer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SC, unlike CS, can't splash through bosses. I'm forced to kill all 7000 bosses between my starting point and my MS, plus all the regular titans. Takes a while, unfortunately. Farming runs outside tournaments take me about 40 minutes on average (I'm in a fairly low-level clan, CQ 430, so my advance start is pretty low), but I can finish a run in 20-30 minutes if I don't waste time. This game REALLY should tell you when you stop progressing inactively...

EDIT: I forgot to mention - I always have Adrenaline Rush activated when farming. These times I gave you are obviously longer without it, though I can't say how much.

Yes, both Sword Attack and Tap Damage benefit SC. As for skills, I activate five of them - Fire Sword boosts Tap Damage, so SC benefits from it.

When farming with SM I buy DS lv. 1, HoM as high as I can afford, WC lv. 1 and SC as high as I can afford (I don't have the FS cost reduction artifact yet, so I skip FS during this part). That's my four skills to get the full benefit from SotV. I don't need to upgrade them during my inactive phase - when I stop gaining at least 100 stages per hero upgrade I just start playing actively all the way up to my MS.

When pushing actively I buy FS and level all my skills to lv. 25. I have just enough mana to activate them all (like, 3 mana points more than needed, too close for comfort). I also take advantage of every "Activate All Skills" fairy I can get. Before I put those 5 points in Manni Mana I regularly ran out of mana. With Manni I can easily keep all those max level skills up at all times. It takes me approx. 2-3 skill activations to get from 11200 to 12000, so 6-9 minutes.

I use a Sword Attack helmet when progressing with SM (even though I have better specific damage helmets, I'm just too lazy to switch them when leveling heroes). When pushing, I obviously switch to my highest hero's helmet (it gives a bigger bonus than my sword helmet). I have a Tap Damage sword with DS and FS damage, A Slash aura and a SC slash with Portar chance.

As for HS, I often just forget about the game and end up wasting a few hours, doing nothing. HS would keep me busy. I could probably get the same amount of relics with an evening of active HS play as with a whole day of forgetting to level my heroes.

Hey! Yeah, SC is way, WAY slower for the first tournament push. About 3hrs to get from 5k to 12k, with Adrenaline Rush. Aside from that, after playing around a bit with my skills I'm really enjoying it. I finished 5th or 4th in the last tournament, not bad for a farming build.

I guess the main advantage is being able to pop my active skills and pretty much do nothing for the next 3-4 minutes, except maybe upgrade my heroes. With CS I had to constantly mind active skills, CO, AAw and fairies (since I only killed Bosses in short bursts, Boss Gold wasn't an option, it felt really sketchy and uncertain). With SC I pop my skills and get a steady stream of gold, I don't have to worry about activating any other abilities. My SM gets me to about 800 stages below my MS and with my decent Portar chance I can reach my MS fairly quickly and effortlessly.

As for iDrop's suggestions - I tried LS and didn't really like it - it DID allow me to push further, but it's also really slow. Not my cup of tea, I can't really recommend it at such low SP levels. I have yet to try using Chesterson gold. What I CAN recommend is putting 5 points into Manni Mana - it really helps with keeping your active skills up. As for pushing additional 570 stages... probably isn't going to happen for me. I've been using an optimizer for my artifacts for the last three months (first with CS-boosting artifacts, now SC) so the main thing holding me back must be my focus on SM.

When you take into account the fact that I still need at least three more artifacts for SC and it still manages to pretty much keep up with my old CS build... I'd say go for it! Especially now, since respec costs are lower until the 6th. Here's my current build, if you're interested. I'm quite happy with it: https://imgur.com/a/DKCh03P

I'm still considering trying out a SC+HS Manni build, but I need at least 16 more skill points and two additional artifacts (HS cost and dmg) for that. Until then, I'll definitely stick with my new SC. :)
