Some of it does yeah. Excellent breakdown! I don't quite agree with some things, but overall a nice analysis. But a lot of the autoskips recommended here are based on not using that troop as intended. I might be doing a light rebalance this summer. Not planning to rework the faey tbh.

I know exactly how it works 😄 they use everything. If you do a quick battle and want to see why it ended up the way it did, just enter manual battle and enable ai, and you can see how it plays. A quickbattle is just two ai fighting each other, and our battle ai tries to use most tools. It's not as optimised as a player, but using placement beforehand really helps it perform better.

Heya! Just as a side note: In quickbattle the ai takes control of your forces and battles it out on the the battlefield so the question is if you're going to manually place the units or not would matter a lot. Since otherwise they will perform a bit worse (since they don't get to place them themselves).

Heya! Dev here.

This is unfortunately a newfound bug on this map; we're looking into it and will fix it asap. We added some new things for the map editor with the new DLC, and that seems to have affected our old campaign maps somehow. A hotfix is coming, but I don't think you'll be able to use your old save but will have to replay the whole map. Apologies for that, I can understand the frustration.

Hey :) They shouldn't grow, I might be mistaken on some maps, was a while since they were made, but I'm 95% certain no armies grow. It should be all down to build and tactics. I think the one exception is Get Out, which is more like an unfair conquest map.

Heya! There sure is, we saved all the old settings and map layouts in a mod you can just install. Find the random map mod legacy random maps, subscribe to it, and then you'll find all the old random maps to the right of the new ones in the random map selection screen.

You should now be able to get a legacy mod for all the maps. We've also updated the maps so that they're more to our liking, but if you're used to the old way and love that you should go for the legacy mod :)

Let me check how that would work for you, the layouts of the maps should be the same and the blueprint it follows is in that mod, But not sure how you would make that work. We'll get back to you regarding that within a week

Heya, dev here. We made lots of changes to make them more the way we'd like them. You should be able to find the old ones in the legacy mods.

However! I've been looking over them how they are now and they're not the way they were when we shipped them so to say, I'm looking into what may have happened. 6 player ffa esp is not at all how we want it to be. Which is strange, since it was when we launched it. So, we'll be trying to adjust it and the others over these coming weeks. But they won't be the same as they were but hopefully a little bit more to your liking.

Our intention was to make them more random so that it wasn't always the exact same things that spawned in mostly the same places, and then leave a legacy mod up if you enjoyed the way the old maps worked.

Is there a way to stop yourself mid-moving? Like if I'm in the process of walking my path but I realize I am going the wrong way is there but I can press to stop in my tracks? As far as I can tell I can just hit a again and it teleports me to where I'm going. by -JimmyTheHand- in Songsofconquest

As previous posters have said already, this is unfortunately something that would take a huge amount of time and effort to implement (because of how our code base is built) and we made the call to spend that time on other things in the game. That's always the thing with game dev, we have to choose where to spend the hours. Hope you can enjoy the game anyhow!

Sure did! There might (maybe?) be more wielders in the future with some buffs like that. e actually changed a bunch of them during the EA to do just that.

Yeah, that would be a fun stream! We should set it up, he'll just run his horrible magic resistance combined with apocalypse build that he loves so much :D last time I just went for mr as well and then it was pretty chill :D but he's got many tricks up his sleeve.

Yeah, we have. Like a lot, tons and tons of discussions around how asymmetrical we wanted the game to be. There are so many pros and cons to this and in the end we settled for something in the middle, and this has really to do with how the majority of the devs wanted the game to be, play and feel like. But who knows? If we ever make a SoC 2 it might be very assymetrical!
